Museumsdorf Donuimun (돈의문 박물관마을)

Das Museumsdorf Donuimun wurde als erstes Dorf innerhalb des Westtors der Festungsmauer Hanyangdoseong gebaut, und enthält somit nicht nur historische Werte, sondern bewahrt auch Erinnerungen an das moderne Zeitalter von Seoul auf.

Im Jahr 2003 wurde das Dorf mit der nahegelegenen Gegend Gyonam-dong in Jongno-gu zur „Neustadt Donuimun“ ernannt und sollte eigentlich zu einem Nachbarschaftspark umgestalten werden. Aufgrund seines Wertes als erstes Dorf innerhalb des Westtors der Festungsmauer entschloss sich die Stadt Seoul jedoch dazu, das Dorf in ein Museumsdorf umzuwandeln und den Stadtbewohnern Seouls ein historisches und kulturelles Gut zu hinterlassen. Die Gebäude des Dorfes wurden so gut wie möglich in ihrem Originalzustand erhalten, und so kann man moderne Gebäude und Hanoks in 100 Jahre alten Gassen finden.
