Die heilige Märtyrerstätte Jeoldusan war der Ort, wo im Februar 1866 nach dem Eindringen französischer Kriegsschiffe über den Fluss Hangang bis Yanghwajin viele Katholiken hingerichtet wurden. Die Gegend hieß ursprünglich Jamdubong, wurden dann jedoch in Jeoldusan ("Enthauptungsberg") umbenannt. Zum 100. Jahrestag dieser sogenannten Byeongin-Verfolgung wurde im Oktober 1967 hier eine Gedenkhalle errichtet.

Das Koreanische Märtyrermuseum wurde im Jahre 1967 unter dem Namen Märtyrerschrein Jeoldusan und in Erinnerung an die vielen koreanischen Märtyrer seit 1866 eröffnet. Über 3.000 katholische Relikte werden hier aufbewahrt, darunter 1.258 Bücher, 186 Keramikwaren, 155 Gemälde und Zeichnungen sowie 45 Skulpturen und Statuen im Außenbereich.
