Auf dem Hügel Waegogae stand in der Joseon-Zeit ca. 500 Jahre ein Ziegelwerk, das auch die Bausteine für die Katholische Kathedrale Myeong-dong und die Kirche Yakhyeon in Jungnim-dong zur Verfügung gestellt haben soll. Hier wurden für eine kurze Zeit die sterblichen Überreste der Märtyrer verwahrt. Auch die von Priester Kim Dae-geon (1821-1846) befanden sich kurz hier, bevor sie auf die Heilige Stätte Mirinae verlegt wurde. Heute steht hier die katholische Kirche des Koreanischen Militärordinariats.

Die Heilige Märtyrerstätte Danggogae ist ca. 5 Minuten Fußweg Elektronikmarkt Yongsan entfernt. Lee Seong-rye wandte sich vorübergehend von ihrem Glauben ab, um ihre jungen Kinder am Leben zu erhalten, und ihr wurde die Heiligsprechung verweigert.
