Die heilige Stätte Solmeo ist der Geburstort des ersten koreanischen Priesters, der heilige Andreas Kim Taegon. Er lebte hier, bis er als Siebenjähriger der Verfolgung entkam und seinem Großvater nach Handeok-dong, Yongin folgte. Auch einige Generationen seiner Vorfahren, wie zum Beispiel sein Urgroßvater Kim Jin-hu (1814 als Märtyrer gestorben), sein Großonkel Kim Han-hyun (1816 als Märtyrer gestorben) und sein Vater Kim Jae-jun (1839 als Märtyrer gestorben) lebten hier.
Er wurde als Theologie-Student in Golmaemashil ausgewählt und zum Studium nach Macao gesandt und im Jahre 1846 durch Bischof Ferréol in Shanghai als Priester ordiniert. Nach seiner Rückkehr nach Korea arbeitetet er in Yongin, bis er im Jahre 1846 im Alter von nur 26 Jahren vor Gericht gestellt und hingerichtet wurde und so einen Märtyrertod starb. Papst Johannes Paul II. ernannte ihn während seines Besuchs in Korea im Mai 1984 zum Heiligen.
In der heiligen Stätte steht eine Statue von Kim Taegon, ein Denkmal steht unter den Pinien und seine Überreste sind in der nahegelegenen Kathedrale aufbewahrt.
