Known as the birthplace of Korean pears, Naju pears are well-known for its long history. The fruit was exported worldwide starting in 1967. The Naju Pear Museum promotes the fruit and is a learning center for its agricultural history. The museum opened on April 20, 1992 and is the world's only pear museum.

The arrival of spring, the blooming of flowers, and the fluttering of butterflies signal the beginning of the Butterfly Festival in Hampyeong. The festival holds exhibitions on flowers, butterflies, and insects, as well as cultural and art performances featuring various stories about the environment. There are also displays of butterfly and insect specimens from around the world at the Butterfly Ecology Center. Visitors can enjoy various eco-activities, including kite flying, a visit to the dairy farm, and traditional folk games. The most popular activity for families is trapping butterflies in small bottles and setting them free in the flower gardens. At the festival, there is also a food market and a special performance for visitors on Children’s Day.

Mountain Flowers Bloom in Dorae Hanok Village, Naju-si, Jeollanam-do, is a 100 year-old house built in the traditional way using local timber and no nails. Doraemi House in Dorae Village, Naju, Jeollanam-do, is a hanok stay with a bonchae (‘main house’), a sarangchae (men’s house) and a byeolchae (‘reception room’). The bonchae has two bedrooms with a hidden attic space. The sarangchae has a living room with bedrooms on either side; while the byeolchae, atop a low hilll, has a single cozy room. A walk along a forest road takes you to a pavilion by a pond. Next to the bonchae is a quiet and tranquil reading room.

Its signature dish is the yangpa hanu shabu-shabu (onion-fed Korean beef shabu-shabu), made with Korean native cattle raised on onions produced in Muan. Muan onions are known for their sweet taste and aroma, and Korean native cattles raised on these onions is renowned for its tender texture and rich flavor. Bulhoesa Temple is a temple located in the middle of Deongnyongsan Mountain. It exudes a simple yet devout atmosphere. Behind it lies a beautiful forest of camellia trees. At the entrance of the temple, there are two stone Jangseung figures estimated to have been made around 1719. Jangseung is a traditional Korean cultural symbol believed to ward off evil spirits, and they are sculpted with comical expressions, providing an amusing sight for visitors.
