Devant le temple on trouve au loin les monts Yongmunsan et Myeongjisan. Un peu plus près du temple, on trouve le mont Daegeumsan. Sur chaque côté du temple, on trouve le mont Unaksan et le mont Cheonmasan. Enfin, derrière le temple, on trouve le mont Chungnyeong et le mont Seorisan.

Ce temple a été construit relativement récemment, c'est pourquoi on trouve peu de trésors culturels dans les lieux. Cependant, comparé à des temples moyens en Corée, il se distingue par son côté très bien dessiné et raffiné. Le temple se distingue également par ses décorations sobres, des artifices qui ne sont pas saturés de couleurs et qui inspirent une certaine tranquillité.

Le temple est aussi réputé pour ses chemins de promenade et les beaux paysages qu'il offre via les monts aux alentours.

Lorsque la ligne Gyeongchun, une double-voie ferroviaire reliant Seoul à Chuncheon a remplacé le 20 décembre 2010 l'ancien train Mugunghwa qui faisait transiter les voyageurs entre les deux villes. Construit sur la ligne Gyeongchun, le rail park de Gangchon est un site touristique populaire pour pédaler sur une voie de chemin de fer et découvrir les paysages charmants du fleuve Bukhangang.

The Chi-ong Art Center is a hanok-style culture complex situated amid a clean and quiet environment in Gyeonggi-do Province. The head of the art center, potter Kim Ho, originally ran a cultural life school for residents in Pocheon, but he settled at the foot of Chungnyeongsan Mountain in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi Province after the school was severely damaged by a huge flood in 1997. Kim established the center as a space to support the cultural and leisure activities of local residents and the creative activities of talented youth and artists. It took four years to build and comprises a gallery, seminar room, hanok accommodation, Korean restaurant, etc. The center attracts various types of guests including people who appreciate the beauty of hanok and the local landscape, family visitors, company groups, and couples among others. The overall structure of the center is very distinguished, and consists of three levels resembling staircases: the first level contains a Korean restaurant, the second level has a lecture room with a capacity of 60 persons, as well as a gallery with a pond and a pavilion set in a Korean garden; and the third level has guestrooms furnished with a toenmaru (a narrow wooden porch running along the outside of the building) and ondol floor heating, as well as a tall gate, a wide front yard, and tearoom. Although it was only built just over ten years ago, visitors say that it seems like an old hanok house because of the unvarnished roof tiles and the surrounding stonewall, which was built in the traditional dry-stone method using only local stones. The center offers diverse experience programs including tea ceremony, natural dyeing, mask, rice cake, and bean curd making programs, as well as a boudoir handicraft program. Its “prestige” program is the advanced tea ceremony class in which the head of the center teaches participants how to brew tea according to traditional etiquette, etc. As the Chi-ong Art Center has no TV or Internet, visitors have an opportunity to empty their heads and relax amid the serene environment, appreciate nature, take a walk in the garden or simply read a book.

Located next to Uiamho Lake, KT&G Sangsangmadang Chuncheon is a cultural space that combines “art” and “stay,” and Sangsangmadang Chuncheon Stay is a space pertaining to the latter. Housed in a remodeled former Gangwon Sports Hall building, it features a quirky exterior and tasteful interior design. Ivory-colored walls, white duck-down bedding, and brown furniture blend in seamlessly with orange or light green highlights. The management’s attentiveness is made evident in the temperature control in each room and the variety of bed arrangements for greater choice. The first floor of the building has a restaurant specializing in chicken dishes, and guests also have the choice of cooking their own food in the communal kitchen equipped with an induction stove, microwave oven, refrigerator, and cooking utensils. There are even music practice and performance rooms for artists. The surrounding area exemplifies the beauty of Chuncheon’s lakeside nature, best explored with bicycles. Nearby tourist sites include the Gongjicheon Recreation Area, Chuncheon Joung Do Mullegil, and Soyanggang Skywalk.

La Maison de la Littérature de Kim Yu-jeong (김유정 문학촌)

Compté parmi les plus éminents auteurs coréens de nouvelles, Kim Yu-jeong (1908~1937) est né au village de Sille à Sindong-myeong, Chuncheon. La transformation de sa maison d’enfance en Maison de la Littérature, fait parti d’un effort pour que l’ensemble du village devienne un village littéraire à la mémoire de l’écrivain. La maison possède un hall d’exposition, un sentier pédestre, un chemin de randonnée.

Kim Yu-jeong a passé une grande partie de sa vie à Séoul et il est retourné dans sa ville natale en 1931 à l’âge de 23 ans. Il a publié son premier roman « Sangol Nageune » (Le vagabond) suivi par de nombreux romans basés sur la vie rurale tels que «Dongbaekkkot » (Les camélias) et « Bom bom » (Le printemps).

A l’intérieur du hall d’exposition, sa maison d’enfance et même un manège ont été reproduit dans leur forme original. Une grande variété de programmes reproduisant son travail sont également organisés.
