Yeongdo Lighthouse, first lit in 1906, stands at Taejongdae Park. It houses a maritime library, galleries, an observatory, and a café. From the observatory, on clear days, you can even see as far as the Japanese island of Tsushima Island. At the base of the lighthouse, there's a sculpture of a woman turned into stone, waiting for her husband who went out to sea. You can reach it by walking from Taejongdae Park or taking the Taejongdae Danubi Train.

Taejongdae Cliffed Coast was formed by many layers of rock being forced together beneath a lake during the Cretaceous period, and then worn away over time by the sea. The coast features many geological formations, including sea caves and uniquely shaped rocks. Visitors can enjoy walking on the forested paths, or take the train course to easily access Taejongdae Observatory and Yeongdo Coastal Culture Space.

Taejongdae Jjamppong specializes in jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup). Jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) refers to a Chinese-Korean bowl of noodles served in a spicy soup with seafood and vegetables. The restaurant’s signature dish is its eponymous Taejongdae jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup with octopus), topped with a whole octopus. The National Maritime Museum is a comprehensive venue offering exhibitions on maritime culture, history, ocean life, science, and more. The exterior of the museum was designed to resemble a water droplet and is the third largest museum in Korea. The museum holds over 14,000 historic items and relics that have witnessed history and are relevant to the future of ocean life. These are on display in eight permanent exhibition halls, a special exhibition hall, and a children's exhibition hall. The museum also has a library, aquarium, grand auditorium, outdoor performance stage, and a 4D theatre for a multi-cultural experience.
