Ojukheon House was where Yi I (penname Yulgok; scholar and politician of the Joseon Period) was born. It was built during the early Joseon dynasty and was designated as a Treasure in 1963 for its historical value.

Inside the house is Mongryongsil, where Yi I was born. The household complex also features the household shrine (Munseongsa), the sarangchae (men's quarters), Eojaegak Pavilion, Yulgok Memorial Hall, and Gangneung Municipal Museum. Since 1961, the city of Gangneung has held a memorial ceremony at Yulgok Memorial Hall from October 25 to 26.

Charmsori Gramophone & Edison Science Museum combines a music museum focused on sound with a science museum focused on inventions by Thomas Edison. Opened in 1982, the museum offers over 30 years of history and tradition with over 5,000 collections including music related items and inventions by Edison. Some of the main facilities include four large exhibition halls, a large music room and an observatory with a view of Gyeongpo Lake on the third floor. Located 1 kilometer away from Gyeongpodae Pavilion and 6 kilometers from downtown Gangneung, Gyeongpo Beach is a sand bank formed between Gyeongpoho Lake and the ocean. This beach has a beautiful sandy shore that extends to a length of 1.8 kilometers and shallow waters, making it a popular beach attraction. By the beach is a lush pine forest where visitors can enjoy forest bathing. Ojukheon House, a Treasure, is an important house which shows the lifestyle and architectual style of the early Joseon dynasty. It is one of the oldest preserved Korean houses. Yulgok Yi-I, one of Korea's most noted scholars, was born here to Sin Saimdang. In rememberance of his birth, the Yulgok Festival is held annually at Ojukheon. There are many traditional materials and regional remains which are displayed in the private museum. A painting of Yulgok is hanging in Munseongsa (the ancestral shrine of Yulgok). More artwork by the Yulgok family are on display in the Yulgok Memorial Hall. In addition, various Buddhist artwork, ceramics, pictures and common living appliances are on display in the Folk Tradition Hall, History Culture Hall, and the outdoor exhibition area.

Established on June 8, 1963, Mukho Lighthouse serves as a guarding beacon of ships coming and going at Mukho port. Mukho Lighthouse is a 12 meter-tall white circular concrete structure with two floors located at an altitude of 67 m. It is surrounded by a cozy park where forsythias blossom in spring and visitors can overlook the sea. The park is home to the Maritime Fishing Exhibition Hall, where visitors can learn about the history of fishing in the area. The lighthouse and its surrounding area are full of quiet and comfortable spots to relax and enjoy the scenery.

Because of its location, the lighthouse is absolutely crucial to the safety of ships and boats coming into the port. The lighthouse’s large light, installed in October 2003, was developed by Korean scientists and uses a rotating prism lens that can shine beams of light as far as 42 km.
