Geoje Sea World, the largest dolphin theme park in Korea, is located in Geoje. As one of the main attractions in the area, it is the only place in Korea that offers experience programs with the white beluga whales. Visitors can meet and interact with dolphins and beluga whales up close and also participate in the marine education program.

Located 1.5 kilometers away to the east side of Irun-myeon, Geoje, Jisimdo Island is a very small island covering an area of just 0.338 ㎢ with a 3.5-kilometer long coast line. From Jangseungpohang Port, it takes approximately 15 minutes by ferry and visitors can tour the entire island within 2 hours.

The name of the island comes from its appearance resembling the Chinese character ‘sim (心).’ The island is home to abundant and old camellia trees more than any other islands in the southern sea, earning the nickname "Dongbaek (camellia) Island."

Geoje Botanical Garden (Geoje Jungle Dome) is the largest botanical garden in Korea, covering an area of 4468 square meters, a maximum x_height of 30 meters, and covered with 7472 sheets of glass. Hallyeohaesang National Marine Park was designated as the first national marine park in 1968 and covers the area between Jisimdo Island in Geoje and Odongdo Island in Yeosu with six separate districts including Geoje, Tongyeong, Sacheon, Hadong, Namhae and Odongdo Island. It spans over an area of 535.676 ㎢ and the ocean accounts for 76% of the total area. The outstanding view created by the sea and land attracts over 1 million visitors every year.

Geoje is made up of 10 inhabited islands and 50 uninhabited islands. Two-thirds of the area is included in Hallyeohaesang National Marine Park, featuring Haegeumgang Islets, designated as Scenic Site No. 2, and Daebyeongdaedo Island & Sobyeongdaedo Island, one of the most stunning points of Hallyeo Waterway. Also, the drive on the coastal road between Yeocha and Hongpo offers a breathtaking view of Dadohae Islets unfolding from the peak of Cheonjangsan Mountain and Nojasan Mountain.

Baekmanseok is a renowned restaurant on Geojedo Island specializing in a local delicacy called meongge bibimbap (sea pineapple bibimbap), which is a dish made of sea pineapple mixed with laver, sesame seeds, and sesame oil, renowned for its exquisite taste. The menu also includes options like ganjang gejang jeongsik (soy sauce marinated crab set menu), seongge bibimbap (sea urchin bibimbap), and saeng ureong maeuntang (spicy rockfish stew). Geoje P.O.W. Camp Historic Park is a park and exhibition hall built on the site of South Korea's largest prisoner-of-war camp, which accommodated up to 173,000 North Korean and Chinese prisoners captured by the South Korean and UN forces during the Korean War (1950-1953). Visitors to the exhibition hall can learn about the Korean War and the lives of prisoners through educational displays and experiences, as well as view war artifacts such as weapons.

One of the magnificent sights here is the breathtaking combination of bizarre rocks and the stratified bluffs of Deungdaeseom Island and Somaemuldo Island. At low tide, one can walk from one island to the other.

Yongbawi Rock (Dragon Rock), Bucheobawi Rock (Buddha Rock), Geobukbawi Rock (Turtle Rock), Chotdaebawi Rock (Candlestick Rock) and Geulssingigul Cave are absolute masterpieces created by Mother Nature. Another must-see is the view of Somaemuldo Island from Deungdaeseom Island. From there, the rock formations look like a sitting dinosaur.

Nammaebawi Rock (brother and sister rock) is made up of two rocks, one at the top and the other at the bottom. The name of the rock was inspired by a folk tale of a twin brother and sister. The upper rock is also known as Sutbawi Rock (charcoal rock) as it is bigger and darker than the other, while the bottom one is called Ambawi Rock.

Somaemuldo Island was named as such due to its small size ("so" means small) in comparison to Maemuldo Island right next to it. In 1904, the island was settled by the Kim family from Gimhae, who came from the mainland as they heard that the island was so abundant in food that no one would starve. Now, the island is popular as a scenic tourist attraction.
