Chuncheon Romantic Market is Chuncheon’s representative regular market that opened in 1960. It connects to Chuncheon’s high street, Myeongdong. As the arcade is installed in the market passageway, people can conveniently use the market regardless of the weather and season. Selected as a cultural tourism-style market in 2010, the market was renamed Chuncheon Romantic Market and refurbished with signboards and alleys. Visitors can discover hidden mural paintings and sculptures in various alleys. The market is packed with stores selling hanbok (traditional Korean clothes), general clothes, miscellaneous goods, and various food ingredients, as well as restaurants specializing in noodles, blood sausage soup, Vietnamese rice noodles, and others. When the U.S. army resided in Chuncheon, the Yankee Market was formed to sell American goods, but is barely surviving these days. Chuncheon Romantic Market is not large in size, but it is adjacent to other attractions such as Chuncheon Myeongdong Street, Yungnim Pass, and Myeongdong Dakgalbi Alley of Chuncheon. In addition, it was also included in the list of “16 Traditional Markets for Tourists” by Korea Tourism Organization (KTO).

Chuncheon Station was established on July 25, 1939 as a regular station. The stations sees an average of 5,200 passengers on a daily basis. One of the three mime festivals in the world and one of the foremost arts festivals in Korea, this festival began in 1989 and went international in 1995 with the participation of artists from around the world. The festival sees performances held across the entire city of Chuncheon, in both indoor and outdoor spaces, focusing on the festival's annual theme based on water and fire. The program’s participatory nature means that visitors get to enjoy the festival in a more intimate manner.

Statue of Soyanggang Maid (소양강처녀상)

This Soyanggang Maiden Statue stands high between Soyanggang Skywalk and Soyang i(2)gyo Bridge. This statue, representing Korea’s popular song Soyanggang Cheonyeo (maiden), is 12 m high in total, combining 5 m-high base stone and 7 m-high body. If you see it close to, the statue looks very big. The statue depicts a maiden who holds her skirt hem with one hand and reed with the other, and her breast-knot flapping in the wind. The base stone has the inscription of lyrics. The lyrics belong to the song Soyanggang Cheonyeo composed by Ban Ya-wol, who left hit songs, such as Crossing the Teary Pass of Bakdaljae, and Brokenhearted Miari Ridge.
