Yeongdong Bidangang Forest Village is a pure farming village which was at the historical border between the Silla and Baekje kingdoms. Also located nearby is Yeongguksa Temple, where King Gongmin escaped from the Red Turban troops during the Goryeo period.

Created by the Geumgang River that flows like silk around Bonghwasan Mountain, the village is surrounded by breathtaking scenery, keeping Mother Nature clean so organisms including marsh snails and mandarin fish can live.

In the village, plenty of hands-on activities such as catching snails in the crystalline water like a treasure hunter and riding a tandem bike are available to make a valuable memory. Not only these activities, visitors can also take a rest within the ambience of Bidangang River and pick sweet potatoes and grapes, giving the pleasure of harvesting. Other programs including making a wooden doorplate, wine foot-bathing, flying a pungdeung (lantern), and herb soap-making are offered.

Yeongdong Yeongguksa Temple (영국사 (영동))

Yeongguksa Temple is nestled at the foot of Cheontaesan Mountain (714.7 meters), at the boundary between Chungcheongbuk-do and Chungcheongnam-do. Visitors must trek through a valley to reach the temple, passing waterfalls and rocks.

The time of Yeongguksa Temple's construction is not clearly known but it is said to have been built around the late Silla period, during the time of King Seonjong. The temple prospered when the State Preceptor Wongak, who completed the Cheontae, one of Buddhist orders from Daegak Guksa Uicheon, came to the temple in the middle of the Goryeo period. It continued to flourish until the early Joseon era and then took a dive due to the rule of anti-Buddhism. Despite the situation at the time, the temple's reputation as one of the noted temples remained. However, the situation worsened in the early twentith century, to the point of near closure. The temple was reconstructed by Jubongjosa Monk in 1934.

As of now, the temple contains various treasures including the Stele for State Preceptor Wongak, Stupa of Yeongguksa Temple, Three-story Stone Pagoda of Yeongguksa Temple, Three-story Stone Pagoda at Mangtapbong Peak of Yeongguksa Temple. In addition, Bell-shaped Stupa and Round-shaped Stupa, regional tangible cultural assets, are situated in the temple site.

Wine Korea is the only winery in Korea that has a vineyard and produces wine products with its own brand. Opened in 1995, the winery expanded its facilities in 2001 to become an all-in-one stop. Visitors can tour the winery, wine gallery and cellar, taste-test various wines, or enjoy a footbath as part of the many programs available. The winery also has a connection with KORAIL, operating the special wine-themed train.

Yongamsa Temple, located in the mid-slope of Jangyongsan Mountain, is a branch of Beopjusa Temple. It was built during the Silla period. Unlike the more common temple arrangements, the stone pagoda in Yongamsa is uniquely situated on a low peak in the north with a view on all sides. The East and West Three-story Stone Pagodas of Yongamsa Temple, a designated Treasure, can be found here, as well as Rock-caved Buddha, and Wooden Seated Amitabha Buddha in Daeseongjeon Hall.

Jangnyeongsan Mountain is a famous mountain in Okcheon, known for its beautiful natural scenery, pine trees, maple trees, and cypress trees that grow wild there. Entering the 3.1-kilometer-long Healing Forest, you can encounter gardens, wooden bridges, and wish rocks. From spring to autumn, there are also various experiences such as a forest commentary program and a forest healing program. Jangnyeongsan Recreational Forest, which surrounds the beautiful mountains of Jangnyeongsan Mountain and the Geumcheon Valley with clear and clean water like a folding screen, is a place with a different charm for each season. It is equipped with various convenience facilities such as an outdoor music hall, seminar room, large restaurant, campsite, convenience store, and healing time house (foot bath, steam bath, etc.). Okcheon Hyangsu Baengni (100-ri) Bike Road is a bicycle path located along the riverside of Geumgang River, where one can enjoy the beauty of Daecheongho Lake and the spirit of poetry in the hometown of Jeong Jiyong, one of Korea's modern poets. Visitors can also stop at Jeong Jiyong Birth House & Literature Library and Janggye Tourist Park by biking along National Highway Route 37, which is famous for cherry blossoms. This bicycle path is relatively easy to travel on and is suitable for beginners. It became even more popular after being featured on the TV show "1 Night 2 Days."

Hagye-ri in Okcheon-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, is the hometown of Jeong Jiyong, the poet who wrote the poem "Hyangsu" (Nostalgia). The Jeong Jiyong Literature Gallery is located next to Jeong Jiyong's birthplace. The gallery has a Literature Exhibition Hall, which is divided into four parts: Jeong Jiyong's Chronological History, Jiyeong's Life and Literature, Jiyong Literature Map, and Exhibition of his Original Copy of Prose and Poem.

At the Literature Experience Center, visitors can learn more about literature through various multimedia platforms. The Video Room shows a documentary about Jiyong's life and literature, while the Literature Class is the venue for lectures, poem discussions, seminars, and other literature club activities.

Daebakjip (대박집)

Daebakjip serves saengseon guksu (fish noodles), a folk dish of Okcheon. It is a noodle soup made by boiling noodles in a broth made by simmering freshwater fish for 12 hours. It began as a meal for fishermen who used to fish by the river in the old days, who began putting noodles into their maeuntang (spicy fish stew). Other interesting dishes include dori baengbaeng (glazed deep-fried minnows), tteokgalbi (grilled galbi patties), maeuntang (spicy fish stew), and bingeo twigim (deep-fried pond smelt).
