Suncheon Utjang is a familiar five-day-interval market in Suncheon that combines the convenience of a permanent market with the charm of a traditional one. Every five days starting from the 5th of each month, this market opens for business and bustles with local street vendors, creating a vibrant atmosphere. A notable highlight is the Suncheon Utjang Gukbap Alley, a food street designated as both a Namdo Food Street by Jeollanam-do and a Suncheon Specialty Food Zone. It’s renowned for its flavorful Gukbap (rice soup dishes). In particular, when ordering two or more servings, diners receive complimentary dishes such as boiled pork slices or blood sausage, depending on the type of Gukbap ordered, making the meal even more appetizing and filling. A favorite of all ages, Utjang Gukbap has become a signature comfort food of the five-day-interval market. Gwangyang Wine Cave (광양와인동굴)

Opened in July 2017, the Gwangyang Wine Cave has transformed the historic Gwangyang Steel Cargo Transportation Tunnel into an immersive wine and cultural experience. Spanning 301 meters in length, 4.5 meters in x_width, and 6 meters in x_height, this unique space aims to introduce the world of wine to aficionados and novices alike. Here, visitors can journey through the global wine collections, gradually cultivating a deeper appreciation for this age-old beverage. In addition, the cave delights visitors with its diverse attraction. Visitors can revel in the cozy wine cafeteria, be mesmerized by the dynamic media façade video show, and snap quicky memories at the trick art photo zone. Gwangyang Wine Cave also manages Gwangyang Eco Park, situated on the left side of the wine cave entrance after parking. Aeyangwon Church - Reverend Son Yangwon Martyr Memorial Hall) (애양원 - 손양원목사 순교기념관)

Located in Sinpung-ri, Yulchon-myeon, Yeosu-si, Jeollanam-do, Aeyangwon Church (Reverend Son Yangwon Martyr Memorial Hall) commemorates Reverend Son Yangwon. He began his religious activities and relief efforts at a group home for patients suffering from Hansen's Disease located in Aeyangwon Church, but he was later detained at Yeosu Police Office because he refused to honor Japanese Shinto shrines in 1940.

The Memorial Hall's construction was completed on March 27, 1994 in order to commemorate Son Yangwon, who was shot and killed by the North Korean army during the Korean War.

The exhibition hall on the first floor displays photos of Son, photos related to Christianity, keepsakes and calligraphy artwork, and the exhibition hall on the second hall displays his prison writings and old books.

Yeosu Industrial Complex (여수 국가산업단지)

Yeosu Safety Experience Training Center is the nation's largest safety training facility founded to raise public awareness on safety prevention and management, covering a wide variety of safety hazards that can take place in the everyday or workplace environment as well as providing region-focused expert training on petrochemical industry. The center has a total of seven themed halls, equipped with 70 different types of content that provide a simulation of real-life emergency situations to educate the public on how to prevent and handle the situation. In particular, the center's virtual reality and special effects content offer a variety of simulations on workplace hazards that can take place in the petrochemical industry, construction sites, manufacturing industry, and service-related sites. The training center is open to visitors of all ages for free.

Yeosu Gasari Ecology Park (여수 가사리 생태공원)

Heungguksa Temple (Yeosu) (흥국사 (여수))

The name of Heungguksa Temple means “if the country prospers, the temple does well.” The temple was established to pray for the country to flourish. Located on Yeongchwisan Mountain, Heunaguksa was founded by Bojo Guksa in 1195.

Within the compound are other buildings including Wontongjeon, Palsangjeon and Daeungjeon (Main Hall). The temple’s main hall, a Treasure, is open in its structure and equipped with traditional Korean doors. A Buddhist painting named Hubultaenghwa is designated as a Treasure. At the entrance to the temple is a rainbow-shaped stone bridge called Honggyo Bridge,a Treasure, which is widely known as a distinguished work of art.

On Yeongchwisan Mountain, azaleas begin to bloom in early April and completely take over the mountain by the end of the month. Azalea blossoms create an extravagant view along the ridgeline of Yeongchwibong Peak (439 meters above sea level) and Jillyebong Peak (510 meters above sea level). During this period, the Mount Yeongchwisan Azalea Festival takes place.

Yeosu Hanok Experience Center (여수한옥체험관)

Yeosu Hanok Experience Center is part of Sanggwan Village, Yeosu City, and can be rented as a single guesthouse. Accomodation consists of a bed room, two ondol rooms, a living room, and two bathrooms, and provides a healthy rest with a Gudeuljang and a red clay wall. There is a kitchen, and a barbecue area outside (charcoal and grill provided free of charge). By prior arrangement, a free pickup service from Yeosu Airport or Yeosu Bus Terminal is available. Guests can experience tradtional games such as Yutnori and Neolttwigi and crafts such as Injeolmi rice-cake making.

Yeosu Yeongchwisan Mountain (영취산 (여수))

Yeongchwisan Mountain is not very tall, rising just 510 meters above sea level, but the mountain has long been deemed as a spiritual guardian of the Yeosu peninsula. During the old days, people held rituals for rain or offered wishful prayers here. Geumseongdae and Dosolam Hermitage are two Buddhist places of worship on the mountain.

As Yeongchwisan Mountain is not very tall, taking any hiking course will lead hikers to the peak within about four hours. The mountain is a perfect place for family travelers to go hiking. Yeongchwisan Mountain is also widely known as the first place in Korea where azaleas begin to bloom in the spring, and is one of the top three most famous places in Korea for azalea blossoms. In April each year, the azalea festival is held in the mountain. The festival offers a variety of programs including a ritual for the god of the mountain, a writing contest for students, a photo contest, and Miss Azalea beauty pageant. During the festival, visitors can enjoy various events and local foods.
