Gijisi Juldarigi Folk Festival aims to promote this 500-year traditional folk custom. Juldarigi, a tug-of-war game, was started to pray for peace and fortune in the new year and to be in concord with neighbors as part of a village’s feast.

Hamdeok Catholic Church (합덕성당)

Hamdeok Catholic Church was built in 1929 in the gothic style. The church started out as Yangchon Catholic Church in Sanggung-ri, but was moved to the current location by the priest, and renamed Hamdeok Catholic Church. The name was later changed to New Apdeok Catholic Church before being returned to the current Hamdeok Catholic Church.

Asanman Embankment (아산만방조제)

Asanman Embankment was created by blocking the stream that flows into the Asanman Bay in the West Sea. Although it was originally created to expand the farmlands of the region, Asanman Embankment became a tourist site over time thanks to its beautiful scenery. The area has the Yellow Sea to the west and Asanho Lake to the east. The western side of the embankment has a wide tidal flat. Fishing and drives can be enjoyed in the area. Don’t miss the view of the sunset toward the sea. In addition, there is a park, observatory, and exhibition hall in the area.

Gongseri Catholic Church (아산 공세리성당)

Gongseri Catholic Church was founded in 1894 as the main parish of the Daejeon diocese in Gongse-ri, Inju-myeon that connects Asanman Bay to Sapgyocheon Stream. Early missionaries originally used a common house for church meetings in the early years until in 1897 when a rectory was built, followed by the establishment of the main church in 1922. This was the first Catholic church in Chungcheongnam-do and the religion spread across Anseong, Onyang, and Dunpo to establish regional churches respectively. The grounds have three graves of prosecuted martyrs, a parish and rectory, retreat house, and meeting room. The premises is surrounded by beautiful views of a lush forest.

Hapdeokje Reservoir (합덕제)

Hapdeokje is a reservoir located in Dangjin, Chungcheongnam-do. Designated as a Chungcheongnam-do Monument in 1989, it is known to have been built in the late Unified Silla period for the irrigation of Yedang Plain (Sodeulgangmun Gate). It attracts many tourists in spring with cherry blossoms and canola flower blossoms and in summer with lotus flowers in full bloom. The Hapdeokje Ecotourism Experience Center (opened in 2021) and Hapdeok Folk Irrigation Museum are located nearby, so you can stop by when traveling in the area.

Spring has bloomed in Pinnacle Land. Pinnacle Land wakes up from a long winter sleep and spring is in full bloom. A feast of tulips dressed in fancy clothes and daffodils showing off their graceful figure. Visitors can feel the mood under the spring sky of the mountains and 500,000 tulips/daffodils grown by hand with the villagers in Pinnacle Land.
