“Mokpo is a port.” This phrase is familiar to Koreans as both a movie title and a popular song. Mokpo, one of three major ports in Korea, is a key center for trade and logistics. The Mokpo Port Festival recreates the traditional Pasi Market culture of Mokpo Port, offering a variety of food, entertainment, and experiences. Visitors can participate in live auctions at a ship for fresh seafood and enjoy the ocean view while grilling their purchases at the cooking station. In addition, the festival features a variety of maritime parades, navy band performances, and shows by art troupes from Mokpo’s overseas sister cities, all reflecting Mokpo’s identity as a port city.

Located in the city's center, Yudalsan Mountain offers a view of Mokpo and Dadohae Sea, constantly inspiring its residents' artistic souls. There are many places to visit, including an orchid park and a sculpture park with 100 sculptures. Visitors can also enjoy a panoramic view by driving along the 2.7 km-long Yudalsan Scenic Road surrounding the mountain. In addition, Albizia Kalkara, a rare plant that will vanish forever from the face of the earth if it becomes extinct on Yudalsan mountain, inhabits this mountain. The view from the top of Yudalsan Mountain is spectacular, and the sight of big and small ships passing between them resembles an oriental painting. Dadohae's sunset and Mokpo Port's night view from the mountain will remain in the hearts of those who visit.

Yudalsan Sculture Garden was the first outdoor sculpture garden to open in Korea, and is located just below Ideungbawi Rock at the summit of the mountain. The garden features 104 works of art on the themes of nature, culture, and sculpture that were selected through a panel of judges. Located between the different works are trees and plants, providing more beauty to the park. Looking farther away, visitors can see the major attractions of Mokpo spread out in the city below.

Oedaldo Island is an island located 6 kilometers off the eastern coast of Mokpo. The island has clean beaches and a natural environment, earning it recognition from the Ministry of Environment and Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. The island is a popular attraction for couples wishing to take in the beautiful sunset, with the small surrounding islands dotting the sea. Catholic Mokpo Shrine is not only the starting point of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Gwangju, a central hub of Catholicism in Korea, but also the place where the first Legion of Mary (Lay Faith Community) headquarters in Korea was established. At the heart of the shrine stands the Sanjeong-dong Memorial Church, designated as a minor basilica in 2020, along with the Martyrs' Memorial Tower. It is a significant site where visitors can experience the history and culture of Korean Catholicism, surrounded by the beautiful scenery of the blue sea and mountains.
