Anmyeondo Island is the sixth-largest island in Korea. Originally part of the mainland, it became an island after a canal was constructed to improve grain transportation. In 1970, a bridge reconnected it to the mainland. It is renowned for hosting Korea's only maritime national park. The island boasts fourteen beaches and the Anmyeondo Recreation Forest. It is also recognized for the "Population of Golden Rain Trees," designated as a Natural Monument.

Bangpo Beach, situated on Anmyeondo Island, faces the Yellow Sea and features a gently sloping fine sand shoreline, perfect for both swimming and strolling. Taean Tulip Park presents the largest flower festival in Korea and offers excellent photo opportunities. The festival venue is divided into sections, which are decorated in different styles according to the annual theme, allowing visitors to enjoy the sight of colorful tulips among creative and fun backdrops.

Kkotji Beach, located in beautiful Anmyeon, features a 5 kilometer stretch of white sand, and attractions like Halbaebawi and Halmaebawi Rocks (Grandpa & Grandma Rocks). Halmaebawi Rock is said to have once been a real woman, Mido, who lived during the Silla period. Her husband was sent on business and never returned. Mido sat by the ocean every day waiting for his return, eventually turning into a stone. Further out to sea, there is a large rock, which naturally earned the nickname of Halbaebawi. Many visitors come to Kkotji Beach all year round to enjoy the beautiful view, and take walks along the beach. The sunset scenery has also become a favorite for photographers.

Anmyeondo in Taean is home to a 100 year old pine tree forest that is special in Korea. The natural forest was managed by the royal family during the Goryeo Dynasty and since 1965 has been managed by the province of Chungcheongnam-do.

The Forest Exhibition Hall in Anmyeondo Recreational Forest displays the producing process of wood, the uses of wood, the forest’s worth, and more in an easy to comprehend manner. The Forest Cabin and Forest Recreation Center have a gas stove, cooking utensils, and shower facilities.

Anmyeon Beach is a 10-minute drive away from Yeonyukgyo Bridge, located in southern Taean. The way to the beach is led by sceneries of mountains and rice paddies. Anmyeon Beach is also a popular site for rock fishing and catching clams and baby crabs at low tide.

Sambong Beach is located to the south of the bridge that connects Nammyeon and Anmyeon-eup. The beach stretches 3.8 kilometers and has a x_width of 300 meters. The three Sambong Rocks, the Haedanghwa flower (plena) and the rich pine forests are just a few of the beautiful and magnificent features of this beach.
