Baekhwasan Mountain, standing at 258 meters tall and located north of Taean, is relatively small, allowing for an easy climb. Its name, Baekhwa, is derived from the appearance of the snow-capped mountain, which resembles a white cloth draped over its peak. The mountain is rich in pine trees and rocks and is home to historical sites such as the Rock-carved Standing Buddha Triad in Dongmun-ri, and the Baekhwasanseong Fortress. A suspension bridge spans a cliff on the mountain, and the summit offers a spectacular view of the sunset.

Namdanghang Port is one of the representative ports of the West Coast. Known for having plenty of prawn, cockle, flat fish, rock fish and other types of seafood, the port draws visitors all year round. You’ll often see people out scouring the shoreline of the port for cockles, which are usually enjoyed as cockle shabu shabu or charcoal-grilled cockle, top local delicacies. A nearby attraction to visit is the bamboo grove of Jukdo Island

Namdanghang Port, located at the west end of Hongseong, is a famous west coast port known for its exceptional seafood. Surrounded by the clean waters of Cheonsuman Bay, Namdahang Port is home to a wide array of sea life including blue crab, cockle and webfoot octopus. Namdanghang Port also draws throngs of visitors from early September to mid-October every year for the country’s largest Jumbo Shrimp Festival.

Hongseong Namdang Port Saejogae Festival celebrates the saejogae (egg cockle) that is harvested around Namdang Port and Cheonsuman Bay between December and April of every year. The plump saejogae are famous for their chewy texture and nutritional value, full of protein, iron, and other essential minerals.

Padori Beach, located at the westernmost point of the Taeanbando Peninsula, overlooks the Yellow Sea. It features both a sandy shore and a pebble beach composed of small, rounded pebbles eroded by the sea, known as haeok. Collecting haeok for personal use is forbidden; however, they are available for purchase at the showroom. North of the beach, a wave-formed cave can be found. Sea bathing at the beach is permitted exclusively from July to August. Additionally, there is a campground nestled within the pine forest.

Yanggoksa Shrine is located in Yanggok-ri, Hongseong, and enshrines the memorial tablets of Han Won-jin, and his disciples Song Neung-sang, and Kim Han-rok. The shrine was built in 1772 to commemorate Han Won-jin, and then was later rebuilt in 1987 with the addition of Song Neung-sang and Kim Han-rok's memorial tablets.
