Tombe Yeonggyeongmyo à Samcheok (삼척 영경묘)

La tombe de Yeonggyeongmyo abrite la dernièr demeure de la mère du roi Mokjo et 5ème arrière-grand-mère du roi Taejo de la dynastie Joseon. En 1899, durant la 3ème année du règne du roi Gojong, la tombe et les monuments commémoratifs ont été bâtis avec la tombe Jungyeongmyo, qui accueille le 5ème arrière-grand-père du roi Taejo. La tombe est entourée par une forêt luxuriante, et la vue est magnifique. Chaque année le 20 avril, la famille Lee de Jeonju y organise un rituel ancestral. La tombe Jungyeongmyo est située à Hwalgi-ri.

Mont Dutasan (두타산)

Le mont Dutasan (1 352 m d’altitude) est l’un des principaux sommets de la chaîne montagneuse de Taebaeksanmaek. Il est particulièrement réputé pour son pavillon Swinumjeong, sa cascade et son bassin, ses azalées, ses pins et ses magnifiques feuillages d’automne. Le temple Cheoneunsa se trouve également dans la région de Samcheok. Le lettré Lee Seung-hyu y a résidé durant son exil, et y a écrit le Jewang Ungi, poème historique de la fin de la période Goryeo. Le nom « Duta » est un terme bouddhiste signifiant « retraite bouddhiste loin du monde ».

La tombe de Jungyeongmyo se trouve à Hwalgi-ri, Miro-myeon, Samcheok-si dans la province du Gangwon-do. Elle abrite la dernière demeure des parents du roi Mokjo, les 5èmes arrières-grands-parents du roi Taejo de la dynastie Joseon. Jungyeongmyo a été désigné monument n° 43 de la province du Gangwon-do le 5 août 1981, et enregistrée comme site historique n° 524 le 12 juillet 2012. Une légende associée à cette tombe raconte qu’un vieux moine avait affirmé au roi Mokjo qu’il devait verser le sang de cent boeufs et enterrer ses parents dans un cercueil en or afin d’assurer le futur de ses descendants. Mokjo fit ce que lui avait dit le moine, et son 5ème arrière-petit-fils, le roi Taejo, devint le fondateur de la dynastie Joseon.
