Depuis son inauguration le 10 octobre 1973, le hall des citoyens de Busan s’est imposé comme un symbole de la ville portuaire internationale de Busan, offrant un espace culturel ouvert pour les citoyens. En 2001, le hall s’est modernisé et agrandi, pour réouvrir le 5 juillet 2002.

Le hall est composé d’un grand théâtre, d’un petit théâte et d’une salle d’exposition. Le grand théâtre peut accueillir 1 832 personnes et il est équipé d’une fosse pour l’orchestre et d’une scène tournante, parfaite pour les spectacles de tous les genres (concerts, opéras, comédies musicales, etc.). Le petit théâtre, avec ses 335 places, propose une ambiance intimiste pour les spectacles plus modestes. Le hall possède également une salle de banquets, une scène en plein air, une salle de repetitions, une loge de maquillage, et bien plus.

Les coréens pensent qu’autrefois, les anges descendaient des cieux pour se baigner dans la lumière terrestre. Le théatre Cho-In reprend le joli conte d’une créature céleste tombant amoureuse d’un bûcheron, dans une version saisissante se déroulant au plein milieu d’une terrible guerre, où elle doit tout sacrifier pour sa famille.

La troupe Cho-In propose ce spectacle de manière non-verbale, utilisant des marionnettes, de belles chorégraphies et de la musique traditionnelle, pour donner un aperçu unique sur la riche histoire culturelle de la Corée.

La troupe Cho-In se produit dans le monde entier et a également produit la pièce « Hotel Splendid » (une histoire sur les femmes de confort coréennes auprès des soldats japonais durant la seconde guerre mondiale) en Corée en Mai 2008.
