Gangneung Ojuk Hanok Village, Gangneung’s representative cultural space, exhibits the excellence and simple beauty of the Korean traditional house known as the ‘hanok’. Based on Ojukheon, the birthplace of Yi I (one of the two most eminent Korean Confucian scholars of the Joseon Dynasty), it was built to spread the ideas of Yi I and promote the excellent features of the Korean hanok to the world through a variety of traditional cultural experience programs. The village is situated next to Ojukheon House, where Yi I and his mother Shin Saimdang were born. It is also near Gyeongpo Lake, one of the most famous tourist attractions in Gangneung, and is only 1.8km away from Gangneung Olympic Park, which served as the ice sports venue of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games. Gangneung Ojuk Hanok Village has a total of 51 guestrooms, including a separate house, a detached house, a duplex-type with an upper floor (numaru), and other types of rooms. In particular, “Aeilje” is the only house with a bed and amenities designed for the physically disabled, including an entrance ramp and a spacious toilet and bathroom for wheelchair users. “Samuljae” (a lecture hall with a capacity of 40 persons) is also available to guests for up to two hours free of charge. Moreover, “Geoga” house, which is a hanok-type passive house, is an energy-saving structure equipped with a solar-paneled roof.
Village du Chodang Sundubu (tofu à l’eau) (초당순두부마을)

Au Sud de la plage de Gyeongpo se trouve le village du Chodang Sundubu, réputé pour son sundubu (tofu à l’eau). Le long de ce célèbre quartier gastronomique de Gangneung, les haricots sont écrasés pour produire le Chodang Sundubu. Ensuite, en plusieurs étapes, l’eau salée de la Mer de l’Est est utilisée dans le processus de coagulation, pour obtenir un tofu doux et léger. Le nom du village « Chodang » vient du nom d’une célèbre famille qui vivait autrefois à cet endroit, du nom de Chodang-Heoyeop. Heoyeop était le père de l’écrivain et poète Heo-gyun (1569-1618) et de la poétesse Heonan-seolheon (1563-1589). Une maison de style traditionnel coréen a été construite à l’endroit où se trouvait autrefois la maison de Heo-gyun et de Heonan-seolheon.

Le chemin de promenade Dulle-gil à Hajodae se déploie autour de l'observatoire Hajodae à Yangyang. Cette route facile d'accès et d'une longueur de 200 mètres environ permet d'apprécier les paysages du littoral et les falaises rocheuses aux alentours. En hiver, elle est accessible de 7h à 17h et 6h00 à 19h00 d'avril à octobre.

La plage de Hajodae se trovue au sud de Naksansa. Elle se distingue par ses eaux d’une profondeur de 0,5 à 1,5m et sa plage de sable blanc fin s’étendant sur 1,5km.
La plage est réputée notamment pour sa forêt de pins ainsi que pour le pavillon situé en haut d’une colline. On affirme que ce pavillon hexagonal, appelé également Hajodae, était la cachette où les domestiques durant la dynastie Joseon (1392-1910), Haryun (1347-1416) et Jojun (1346-1405), passèrent leurs dernières années. Avec son eau peu profonde, le site est notamment recommandé pour les vacances en famille.
Le site offre également des terrains de camping. Aux alentours de la plage, vous pouvez profiter de différents sites touristiques comme Osaekoncheon (source d’eau chaude), Osaekyaksu (source d’eau naturelle), Naksansa mais ausi le parc ,ational Seoraksan, le parc national Odaesan, Tongiljeonmangdae (plateforme d’observation de la réunification) ainsi que Hajodeungdae (phare).
