Le festival du lever du soleil de Yangyang célèbre la nouvelle année et se déroule au temple Naksansa ainsi que sur la plage Naksan. Parmi les évènements principaux, on retrouve le sonnement de la cloche du temple et des feux d’artifice.

Rivière Namdaecheon (남대천)

La rivière Namdaecheon se situe à environ 2 km de l’estuaire de la mer de l’Est. Large de 50 m, elle est traversée par de nombreuses routes. On y trouve un filet installé par le bureau de recherche des rivières de Yeongdong, appartenant à la zone de développement marine nationale, où viennent se prendre les saumons qui remontent le cours de la rivière chaque année en automne pour la ponte. La meilleure période pour observer les saumons à Namdaecheon débute à la mi-octobre et dure jusqu’à fin novembre. Le festival du saumon a également lieu tous les ans au mois d’octobre.

Nogwon Galbi (녹원갈비)

Nogwon Galbi is a restaurant specializing in galbi (grilled pork ribs). The restaurant serves only the freshest pork ribs, coming in regular and marinated in a special seasoning made in-house. The meal comes accompanied by eight tasty side dishes and doenjangjjigae (soy bean paste soup) made from housemade soy bean paste.

Aéroport international de Yangyang (양양국제공항)

L'aéroport international de Yangyang, situé dans le quartier Yangyang-gun à Gangwon-do, est le seul aéroport de la région Yeongdong. Cet aéroport sert également de centre d'informations touristiques en plus d'être une plateforme pour le transport en Corée.

Par ailleurs, l'aéroport n'est pas entouré de montagnes et profite du vent marin pour dissiper le brouillard qui pourrait se former. Ces caractéristiques avantageuses font de cet aéroport une structure qui peut suppléer l'aéroport de Sokcho (aéroport ayant un taux d'annulation relativement élevé) et même pour l'aéroport de Gangneung qui ne dispose pas autant d'équipements.

La plage est sûre en raison de ses eaux peu profondes, et se trouve à proximité Uisangdae et Naksansa Temple, quelques-uns des sites les plus célèbres de Gwandong.
