Le lac Yeongnangho est une lagune naturelle avec une circonférence de 7,8 kilomètres. Le nom « Yeongnangho» est à l’origine de la période Shilla (de –57 à 935 JC). A proximité du lac Yeongnangho se trouvent des sentiers pédestres, un terrain de golf et il est aussi possible de louer des canots. Lors de votre visite au lac, ne manquez pas de vous arrêter au rocher Beombawi. Ce dernier prend la forme d’un tigre, c’est pourquoi il contient le mot «Beom» (tigre en coréen). Si vous escaladez ce rocher, vous pourrez admirer une belle vue sur les environs.

Hansongjeong Garden is owned by a first-rate chef who only uses carefully selected ingredients. The owner-chef won the Grand Prize in the SIFE Seoul International Culinary Competition 2007 and received a bronze medal for his work at the Gangwon Tour Service Competition. He also has a patent on Eolgari Nangmyeon (Cold Buckwheat Noodles with Eolgari Kimchi).

Opened in 1985, Cheoksan Spatel is a natural hot springs with strong alkaline water at 53℃, formed 4000 m below sea level. The water is said to be highly effective in the removal of impurities and treatment of skin conditions. Rooms available include both bedrooms and ondol (under-the-floor heating system) rooms. Each room has a small bath supplied with hot springs water in the bathroom. Guests are also offered a single-use ticket to the hot springs area.
There are plenty of onsite facilities as well, from the hot springs area with many different types of baths to ladies-only spa therapy at Spa Healing Center, walking paths through a pine grove, and an observation deck with a view of Seoraksan Mountain’s Ulsan Peak. Other attractions, such as Sokcho Museum, Seoraksan Botanical Garden, and Cheongchoho Recreation Area, is reachable by car in 10 min.

Temple Naksansa (낙산사)

Le temple de Naksansa, à 4 km au nord de la plage de Naksan, possède une histoire longue de 1.300 ans. Il fut bâti par le grand moine Ui-sang, sous le règne de Munmu, 30ème roi de la dynastie Silla (-57 ~ 935), et compte parmi ses monuments : une pagode de sept étages, une cloche de bronze et la porte de hongyaemun. De retour d’un séjour d’étude dans la Chine des Tang, il entra en contact avec la Boddhisatva de la compassion alors qu’il priait. Il décida de construire un temple à l’endroit même de sa rencontre et lui donna le nom de Naksansa. Reconstruit à maintes reprises, sa forme actuelle date de 1953.

L’entrée à Naksansa se fait par les portes de Iljumun et de Hongyaemun. Lorsque vous passez Hongyaemun vous pouvez voir de chaque côté des murs de terre et de pierres recouverts de tuiles ainsi que des bambous noirs. Au nord de la plage, à côté de la cloche de bronze se trouve une porte arrière donnant sur un chemin menant au pavillon de Uisangdae et à l’hermitage de Hongnyeon-am. Le pavillon Uisangdae se trouve au bord de la falaise, à l’endroit où Ui-sang avait l’habitude de s’asseoir pour méditer. Hongnyeon-am est un petit temple construit au dessus d’une grotte, il y a un trou de 10 cm qui permet d’ailleurs de voir la mer depuis le temple. Au delà du chemin qui mène au pavillon Uisangdae, se trouve plus haut le pic de Sinseong-bong, là s’y trouve une statue du Boddhisatva de la compassion, il s’agit de la plus grande d’extrême orient, elle est visible depuis le port de Mulchi.
