Temple Sinheungsa (신흥사 - 설악산)

Le Temple Sinheungsa se situe à 10 minutes de marche du guichet du Parc Sogongwon. Sinheungsa est un temple appellé habituellement Hyangseongsa et qui fut construit par Jajangyulsa (590~658) durant la 6ème année du règne de la Reine Jindeok (?~654). Le temple a été plusieurs fois détruit puis reconstruit au cours de sa longue histoire.
Sur le chemin menant au temple Sinheungsa, se dresse une grande statue de bronze appelée Statue de Bronze Jwabul et mesurant plus de 10 mètres. Plus loin, sur la droite, le pont Hyeonsugyo a été construit il y a peu pour traverser le ravin. L'entrée du temple se trouve après le pont au niveau de la porte Cheongwangmun. Quatre statues de Cheonwang (roi céleste) se dressent à l'entrée:
Jiguk Cheonwang tenant une épée, Damun Cheonwang tenant un luth, Gwangmok Cheonwang tenant une tour, et Jeungjang Cheonwang tenant un dragon. Les statues bouddhistes du temple Sinheungsa furent érigées durant la construction du temple Seongjeongsa et comprennent les statues Mireukbosal, Gwaneumbosal, Seji, etc. sculptées par Uisang-Daesa. Les bâtiments de l'époque sont encore debout, à l'image du sanctuaire, du temple principal, Myeongbujeon, Bojeru, Chilseonggak, etc. La tour en pierre de trois étages, appelée Hyangseongsaji, a été désignée Trésor Nº 443.
Vous pouvez arriver au rocher Ulsanbawi en longeant le mur situé à l'extérieur du Temple Sinheungsa. Le temple Sinheungsa est un ancien temple d’une très grande importance historique, beaucoup de touristes y viennent pour admirer son beau paysage et ses vues magnifiques.

Opened in 1985, Cheoksan Spatel is a natural hot springs with strong alkaline water at 53℃, formed 4000 m below sea level. The water is said to be highly effective in the removal of impurities and treatment of skin conditions. Rooms available include both bedrooms and ondol (under-the-floor heating system) rooms. Each room has a small bath supplied with hot springs water in the bathroom. Guests are also offered a single-use ticket to the hot springs area.
There are plenty of onsite facilities as well, from the hot springs area with many different types of baths to ladies-only spa therapy at Spa Healing Center, walking paths through a pine grove, and an observation deck with a view of Seoraksan Mountain’s Ulsan Peak. Other attractions, such as Sokcho Museum, Seoraksan Botanical Garden, and Cheongchoho Recreation Area, is reachable by car in 10 min.

Chute d'eau Biryong (비룡폭포)

L’eau tombant de la magnifique et bruyante chute d’eau ressemble fort à des dragons qui s’envolent vers les cieux, raison pour laquelle on l’a appelée "Biryong" (dragon qui s’envole). Un sentier relativement large traversant une forêt de bambous mène à cette chute d'eau, ce qui en fait un endroit parfait pour une randonnée. Depuis le pont Biryonggyo, situé tout au fond de la vallée Cheonbuldong, vous pourrez faire une promenade d'une demi-heure, vous aperceverez alors sur votre gauche la chute d’eau Yukdam, composée de 6 chutes d’eau et d’un étang profond. A 300m de là, se trouve la chute d’eau Biryong entre le ravin étroit aux contours déchiquetés. De même, si vous suivez le Towanggol, vous arriverez à une très grande chute d’eau à 3 niveaux, la chute d’eau Towangseong, mais du fait du sentier extrêmement dangereux qui y mène, il est désormais impossible d'y accéder, le chemin ayant été fermé au public.
