Le pic de Munjangdae, situé à Sangju dans la province du Gyeongsangbuk-do, est un sommet rocheux qui culmine à 1 054 mètres au-dessus du niveau de la mer. Le pic est si large que 50 adultes peuvent s’y asseoir en même temps. Au milieu des rochers, vous trouverez l’étang de Seokcheon qui ne se tarit jamais. Le pic s’appelait autrefois « Unjangdae » car le sommet est toujours recouvert de nuages et de brume. Une légende raconte que le roi Sejo aurait récité un poème au sommet.

Munjangdae offre une superbe vue de Cheonhwangbong, le plus haut pic du mont Songnisan, et vous pouvez également apercevoir les pics de Gwaneumbong, Chilseongbong, Sirubong, Tugubong, Munsubong et Birobong. En automne, vous serez époustouflé par la vue des feuillages rouges le long du sentier qui démarre à Hwabuk-myeon, Sangju. Vous y trouverez également de nombreux monuments culturels, parmi lesquels les chutes de Janggak, le temple de Seongbuksa, les chutes de Osong et la forteresse de Gyeonhwon.
