Chuncheon Station, located in the area formerly known as Gwanghaeju or Chunju during the Goryeo Dynasty, changed its name to its current title in 1413. The name Chuncheon means a cheon (stream) that starts to flow when the ice and snow from the winter melts in the chun (spring). Chuncheon is a Chinese-Korean word and the pure Korean name of the area is “Bom-Nae,” meaning "scent of spring."

Since opening in 1999, the owner of Jasmine has been the talk of the town because of his good nature. He had been featured in the local newspapers for his good deeds, such as providing food to neighbors in need and offering scholarship money to students from unprevileged families, with the belief that people should share even in general tough times.

The owner is very enthusiastic about serving customers the right way. He even hired a Chinese cook for tourists from China and Taiwan who came to Chuncheon because of Hallyu, or the Korean wave. In addition to authentic Chinese dishes for Chinese customers, the restaurant also serves other types of Chinese dishes that suit the tastes of Koreans. With the management philosophy that fresh ingredients are a must in bringing out the best flavor, the restaurant owner uses seafood from Mokpo and vegetables from Chuncheon in preparing delicious Chinese dishes for customers. The owner even holds a meeting every morning with the staff to provide better dishes and service.

Le Marathon Chosunilbo à Chuncheon a lieu chaque année en automne et offre l'opportunité aux coureurs de participer à la course le long de la rue Hoban près du parc Gongjicheon.

Parc de sculptures de Gongjicheon (공지천 조각공원)

Dans le parc Gongji situé aux alentours de la rivière Gongjicheon, un parc de scupltures a été aménagé en 1997. Au total, 29 pièces y sont exposées. En 2001, une horloge à eau a été ajoutée. Le parc se trouve près du parc d’attraction Gongjicheon, où ont été aménagées une pelouse, une salle de spectacles en plein air, une fontaine. Vous pouvez également y profiter de loisirs sur l’eau, comme le bateau.

Un tel environnement où un lac et une fontaine sont en harmononie est tout indiqué pour les promenades familiales et les ballades romantiques des amoureux. Aux alentours de la rivière situés dans le parc se tiennent chaque année diverses manifestations culturelles comme le festival d’art Bomnae, le festival du fleuve Soyang (Soyangje), la soirée des poètes amateurs de Chuncheon. A proximité se situent le centre des enfants et le monument de la guerre.

Marché de Pungmul à Chuncheon (춘천 풍물시장 / 풍물장 (2, 7일))

Le marché Pungmul à Chuncheon a été inauguré par quelques 80 vendeurs provenant des principaux quartiers commerçant à Chuncheon incluant Myeong-dong et le marché Jungang. On compte aujourd'hui plus d'une centaine de vendeurs sur place, un marché qui ouvre ses portes de manière ponctuelle pendant le mois. Il s'agit d'un marché typique de la ville de Chuncheon.

Statue de la Jeune Fille de Soyanggang (소양강 처녀상)

La statue de bronze de la jeune fille de Soyanggang, qui a été commandé par la ville de Chuncheon en 2005 pour promouvoir la chére chanson coréenne « Soyanggang Cheonyeo » (la jeune fille de Soyanggang) et la rivière Soyanggang, est une grande statue de 7 métres de hauteur. La statue moderne établit un équilibre avec la rivière et ses Soyanggang paysage environnant.

Skywalk Soyanggang (소양강 스카이워크)

Le skywalk Soyanggang se situe au niveau du lac Uiamho et permet de profiter au mieux des paysages de la zone. La longueur du skywalk en verre atteint les 156 mètres alors que le sol en verre procure la sensation de marcher par dessus le lac.
