La zone des marais de la baie de Suncheon comprend la plus grande densité de roseaux en Corée. L'image des roseaux se balançant dans le vent est aussi éblouissante que les vagues sur la mer.
Les champs de roseaux abritent de nombreuses plantes qui prospèrent dans des conditions humides, comme le roseau commun et le starwort. Parmi l'ensemble des zones humides du monde, la baie de Suncheon est connue pour attirer le plus grand nombre d'oiseaux rares. Ces oiseaux rares comme la grue à capuchon, la grue blanche molletonnée, la cigogne blanche, la spatule à face noire, et l'huîtrier eurasien, ainsi que d'autres oiseaux désignés comme trésors naturels, peuvent être visibles dans la baie. Il y a environ 140 espèces d'oiseaux dont la bécassine des marais, le canard sauvage, le tadorne de Belon et l'oie sauvage.

On peut observer le canal en forme de S de la baie de Suncheon à partir de l'observatoire Yongsan.
