Sunset (Ilmol) Hanok is located in Waon Village in Suncheon, South Jeolla Province. Its proximity to Waon Beach, a famous site for sunset watching, and the unspoiled tidelands of Suncheonman Bay make the pension a great healing place. An hour-long mountain trail winds through the hills surrounding Waon Village, and a four kilometer-paved road network offers opportunities for jogging or biking.
The Sunset Hanok takes the form of a ㄷ-shaped “hanok” with a grass lawn at the center. Stepping into the courtyard brings one to a view of the expansive tideland beyond the tiled clay fence and the mountains surrounding the village. There are three Korean-style floor bedding rooms and a bedroom in the house. Nangman and Haengbok, with traditional “gudeul” floor heating, offer a great view of the scenery and the sunset from the comforts of the rooms. The Sarang and Hwamok rooms use wood-fired heating, which offers great warmth during the winter season. Hwamok, in particular, is spread out between the main building and the “anchae” (inner chamber), combining a bedroom and a wide floor-heated Korean-style room suitable for large groups. All rooms in Sunset Hanok are equipped with a kitchen sink, induction stove, refrigerator, and cooking utensils, and there is also an outdoor barbeque area for guests. These features make the pension highly popular for family travelers.

Siégeant en tant que frontière entre la province du Jeollanam-do et du Gyeongsangnam-do, la rivière Seomjingang bénéficie d'une eau claire et propre par rapport aux autres grands cours d'eau coréens. Chaque année au mois de mars, le mont Baegunsan (백운산), situé en aval du fleuve Seomjingang, est recouvert de fleurs de pruniers. Le village Seomjin dans la ville de Gwangyang (province du Jeollanam-do) - alias le village Maehwa (매화마을) - détient de vastes étendues sauvages sur 132 231m², entièrement recouvertes de fleurs de pruniers.

100 000 pruniers (encore appelé l'abricotier du Japon) en plein pic de floraison forment un portrait enchanteur.

Au nord du village se trouve le marché Hwagaejangteo (화개장터) et à l'est se trouve Pyeongsa-ri, l'infrastructure principale utilisée lors de la célèbre saga de Park Gyeong-ri The Land. On peut apercevoir des habitants en train de réunir des Jaecheop (palourdes d'eau douce) en dessous de la ferme, près des vasières du fleuve Seomjingang.

Le 'festival international des Maehwa' se tient chaque année au mois de mars au sein du village Seomjingang.

Plage de sable noir de Manseong-ri (만성리 검은모래해변)

La plage de sable noir de Manseongni se trouve à 3 km au Nord de la gare de Yeosu le long de la route côtière. Elle est longue de 540 m, large de 25 m, et ses eaux conservent une température de 25°C en moyenne. Son sable noir favoriserait la circulation du sang et le transit corporel grâce à son taux d’absorbtion élevé des infra-rouges.
