Opened in 2008, Yeongyeongdang, meaning ‘a house with fine sunshine’, is a hanok stay facility located about 6km from Gwangyang-eup in Jeollanam-do. It is set amid the beautiful scenery of Baegun Reservoir, Baegunsan Mountain, and Bibongsan Mountain, of which the family room commands a particularly good view. Yeongyeongdang has 5 guestrooms in total, each of which is equipped with an individual bathroom with bathtub and a toilet. The heating system consists of traditional Korean floor heating (gudeul), a boiler, an air-conditioner, and glass doors and windows to keep out cold draughts. Cooking is not permitted inside the rooms, but guests can use the large communal cooking room, which also provides snacks and has a beverage vending machine. Guests can also enjoy a BBQ or a meal in the courtyard where a wooden table is placed for that purpose. As there are no shops around the house, guests should bring food and other necessities with them. The rooms will be heated in advance if guests inform the owner of their expected arrival time.

Temple Heungguksa à Yeosu (흥국사(여수))

Le nom Heungguksa signifie « Si le pays prospère, le temple va bien ». Le temple a été établi afin de prier pour la prospérité du pays. Situé sur le mont Yeongchwisan, Heungguksa a été fondé par Bojo Guksa en 1195. Dans l’enceinte se trouvent d’autres bâtiments, comme Wontongjeon, Palsangjeon et Daeungjeon (le hall principal). Le hall principal du temple (Trésor n°396) possède une structure ouverte ainsi que des portes coréennes traditionnelles. Une peinture bouddhiste du nom de Hubultaenghwa a été designée Trésor n°578. A l’entrée du temple se trouve un pont de pierre en forme d’arc-en-ciel du nom de Honggyo (Trésor n°563), largement réputé en tant qu’oeuvre d’art éminente.
Sur le mont Yeongchwisan, les azalées s’épanouissent à partir de début avril et envahissent totalement la montagne à la fin du mois. Les fleurs d’azalée forment un tableau éblouissant le long de la ligne de crète du pic Yeongchwibong (439m d’altitude) et du pic Jillyebong (510m d’altitude).
C’est à cette période que le festival des azalées du mont Yeongchwisan est organisé.

Sanggwan Village, located at the foot of Ansimsan Mountain at Sora-myeon, Yeosu-si, is the first hanok (traditional Korean house) village in Yeosu and one of Jeollanam-do’s Happiness Village. All rooms in Yeosu Hanok Experience Center are furnished with ondol (under-the-floor heating system) and red clay-lined walls for a healthy stay. The house can only be rented as a whole, containing a bedroom, two ondol rooms, a living room, and two restrooms. The house has a building area of 112 m2, with standard occupancy of 10 and the maximum occupancy of 15. Each additional guest above standard occupancy carries a surcharge of KRW 10,000, with exemptions for guests under 7 years of age. All rooms are furnished with toiletries and hair dryer.
The kitchen is equipped with kitchen utensils, gas stove, refrigerator, microwave oven, and electric kettle. There is a separate barbecue area, with complimentary grill and charcoal available for renting. The grass lawn has a raised open floor and a 7 m-deep well.
Experience programs on offer include traditional games like yunnori (traditional Korean board game), neolttwigi (Korean seesaw), and kite flying, and injeolmi (bean-powder-coated rice cake) making. Guests who wish to take part in the latter must place a reservation at least one week in advance. Free pickup service is offered for Yeosu Airport and Yeosu Bus Terminal. Guests must notify the accommodations at least one hour before arrival. Nearby attractions include The Ocean Resort Waterpark, Yeosu Soho Marina, and Soho Dongdong Bridge.

Mt. Yeongchwisan (Yeosu) (영취산 - 여수)

Situé à Samil-dong et Sangam-dong, Yeosu, le Mt.Yeongchwisan à 510 mètres d'altitude, a longtemps été considérée comme la gardienne spirituelle de la péninsule de Yeosu, et servait ainsi dans l’ancien temps, de lieu de rituels pour la pluie ou de prières. Geumseongdae et Dosolam sont des lieux de culte bouddhistes réputés se trouvant dans la montagne. Le Mt. Yeongchwisan est connu en Corée, comme étant le premier lieu, où les azalées fleurissent. La montagne est l'un des top 3 des lieux les plus célèbres de fleurs d'azalée dans le pays, les deux autres étant la Montagne Hwawangsan à Changnyeong, Gyeongsangnam-do, et la Montagne Muhaksan à Masan, Gyeongsangnam-do.
