Forteresse Sangdangsanseong à Cheongju (청주 상당산성)

La forteresse Sangdangsanseong est située le long des pentes naturelles à proximité du centre-ville de Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk. Elle fut entièrement restaurée en 1596 (29ème année du règne du roi Seonjo) pendant la bataille Imjinwaeran (invasion japonaise en 1592) puis transformée en une forteresse de pierre au cours de la 42e année du règne du roi Sukjong.
La muraille mesure 4,2 kilomètres de long, et est formée de pierres de différentes tailles pour une hauteur totale de 4 mètres. Elle possède au total trois portes qui sont pratiquement intactes. La porte Sud, appelée «Gongnammun Gate », est en forme de croissant alors que les portes Est et Ouest sont carrées. Ces deux dernières étaient des postes de commandement.
Cette forteresse fut désignée comme site historique n ° 212 en 1970. Sur place, les visiteurs peuvent déguster du vin Jujube vin (vin traditionnel coréen) ainsi que des spécialités locales.

This hanok (traditional Korean house) is located in Ochang Hanok Village within Ochang-eup’s Miraeji Theme Park. Ochang Hanok Village is a collection of about 20 modernized hanok buildings that boast excellent views of the mountain and the Ochang Reservoir nearby. Gayeongdang is owned by Kim Byeong-hee, a master in flower tea who has studied Korea’s traditional flower tea for nearly 30 years. Visitors interested in Kim’s work have an opportunity to discuss the art of flower tea over tea and sweets with the master through Gayeongdang’s tea ceremony program.
Gayeongdang is a faithful recreation of the C-shaped hanok complex, centered around a grass lawn. It is constructed entirely out of Korean pine trees, which fills the indoor spaces with a rich scent of pine. The main and annex buildings are all Korean rooms with ondol (under-the-floor heating system). The former allows guests access to the room, the living room, and the tea ceremony room, while the latter allows opportunities for grilling in the lawn. The space is also available for small events like seminars, small concerts, and marriage ceremonies.

Inaugurée le 1er janvier 1905, la station Jochiwon est une des principales stations sur la ligne Gyeongbu. Elle relie également Cheongju vers d’autres zones dans la province de Chungcheongnam-do. La station a subi plusieurs expansions avant d’être entièrement réaménagée le 19 mai 1999. La place de la station dispose d’une scène et elle est utilisée régulièrement pour des événements culturels. La situation géographique de la station la situe comme un point de transfert important pour les trains se situant sur les lignes Chungbuk, Gyeongbu, Jeolla, et Honam. Avec le développement urbain de Sejong et de Osong, la station est vouée à jouer un rôle important dans le transport et le commerce de la région.

Temple Singwangsa (신광사)

Le temple Singwangsa est situé sur le mont Nojeoksan. Il fut construit il y a environ 160 ans puis renové en 1920 par le grand prêtre Lee Gyeong-jik. Le temple, à l’origine appelé Togoljeol ou encore Suryangsa, fut renommé Singwangsa par le moine Hyewon dans les années 1980.
