Cheongnamdae (청남대) est une résidence présidentielle située près de Daecheong Dam (대청댐) à Cheongwon-gu, Chungcheongbuk-do. L'ancien président, Chun Doo-hwan, fut impressionné par les superbes environs alors qu'il participait à la cérémonie lors de l'achèvement de Daecheong Dam en1980. La construction de Cheongnamdae commença en juin 1983 et fut terminée en six mois. Construite sur une superficie de 560 000 pyeong, Cheongnamdae signifie "Cheongwadae des terres chaudes du sud" en coréen. Les présidents sud-coréens y séjournaient 4 à 5 fois dans l'année pendant les vacances d'été ou les petites vacances. Au total, ils y sont restés 400 jours pour 88 visites en deux décénies.

Il y avait 4 visas présidentielles dans le passé, celle de Gimhae inclue. Sous la présidence de Kim Young-sam, toutefois, toutes, sauf Cheongnamdae, furent fermées. Cette dernière, initiallement fermée au public pendant 20 années, lui ouvre ses portes depuis le 18 avril 2003 grâce à l'ancien président Roh Moo-hyun. Les visiteurs peuvent donc voir une fontaine musicale située dans le jardin écologique (990 m²), faire une randonnée de 3km en montagne, et se rendre au Chemin de Promenade Hoban (8km) ou tout simplement marcher le long de l'agréable sentier et profiter des paysages superbes du Lac Daecheongho.

Cheongnamdae est située à Munui-myeon, Cheongwon-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do. Encerlée par des sommets de montagnes tels qu'Oksaebong, Wolchulbong et Sowibon, et par le Mont Jakdusan, elle est en fait complètement cachée. La beauté du lac l'enlace et plusieurs maîtres de feng-shui ont déclaré l'endroit comme étant l'un des meilleurs de Corée.

Mokhyangjae, which literally means a ’house with tree fragrance,’ is a traditional Korean pension house which stands alone beside a boulevard surrounded by apartment complexes. Entering the garden with a low fence, you will be greeted by the antique two-story Korean style building. The building of Mokhyangjae was built in the style of a palace with red pine tree used for the crossbeam and pillars. With a feeling of magnificence and coziness at the same time, the rafter ceiling shows the wood grain and the sliding door pasted with traditional Korean paper adds to the flavor of the traditional Korean style house. The rooms are composed of the traditional Ondol Room where one or two persons can stay; the Ordinary Room is equipped with a bedroom and an attic; and the Deluxe Room has a wide traditional Ondol room for guests from solo travelers to families. The bedroom and the living room also have traditional display cupboard and heavy hardwood table which had been used by the owner of the house, adding to the flavor of the traditional Korean style house. Equipped with cartoons and picture books, the attic is a favorite place of children. Scattered with stepping stones, the front yard of the house is filled with Sansuyu, magnolia, and cherry trees that blossom in spring. Mokhyangjae is running a traditional teahouse as well. The teahouse was opened thanks to the Chinese husband who enjoys tea, and most of the teas are imported from China. You can have a taste of dozens of kinds of teas including puer tea and red tea, along with a simple tea confectionery.

Temple Singwangsa (신광사)

Le temple Singwangsa est situé sur le mont Nojeoksan. Il fut construit il y a environ 160 ans puis renové en 1920 par le grand prêtre Lee Gyeong-jik. Le temple, à l’origine appelé Togoljeol ou encore Suryangsa, fut renommé Singwangsa par le moine Hyewon dans les années 1980.
