Inauguré en juin 1978, le zoo de Jeonju est un parc zoologique urbain ouvert 365 jours par an. Il abrite environ 100 espèces animales ainsi qu’une grande variété de plantes saisonnières, offrant aux visiteurs une expérience immersive en pleine nature.
Le zoo est organisé en plusieurs zones thématiques autour du concept de « forêts » — forêt des oiseaux, des félins, des primates, des herbivores, de la conservation des espèces, des éléphants et des grandes plaines. Chaque zone a été conçue pour recréer les conditions naturelles des animaux, tout en assurant leur bien-être.
