Le lycée Jungang, situé à Jong-ro (près de Samcheongdong-gil), a été construit pour éduquer le peuple au coeur de la crise nationale qui sévissait au début du XXème siècle. Le bâtiment principal de l’école a été construit en 1937 après qu’un incendie ait détruit la bâtisse de deux étages d’origine en 1934. L’architecture gothique moderne de ce bâtiment est particulièrement significative pour les Coréens, car celui-ci a été conçu par un architecte coréen durant l’époque de la colonisation japonaise. Park Dong Jin, qui a conçu ce bâtiment, est l’un des premiers architectes coréens modernes, et a dessiné les plans du bâtiment principal et de la bibliothèque de l’université Korea, ainsi que l’immeuble du journal Chosunilbo. Le lycée Jungang a été désigné site historique n° 281. De nombreux leaders de la nation ont été éduqués derrière les murs de ce bâtiment gothique durant la période sombre où la Corée a tenté d’échapper au joug colonial.
Le bâtiment principal, situé en face de la porte principal, est une bâtisse en granit de deux étages en forme de H, conçu dans le style gothique, avec une tour de quatre étages au centre.

Parc Hyochang à Séoul (서울 효창공원)

Hyochang parc couvre 122 245 mètres carrés enjambant Hyochang-dong et Cheongpa 2-dong. Il est un point de repère historique qui contenait plusieurs tombes royales, et était connu à l'époque comme Hyochangwon. Les cimetières qui ont été à l'origine situés dans le Hyochangwon appartenaient au prince héritier Munhyo (premier fils du roi Jeongjo, décédé seulement à l'âge de cinq ans), à la concubine royale du roi Jeongjo et la mère du prince héritier Munhyo et sa fille, la princesse Yeongon. Les tombes royales ont été déplacés à Seooreung tombes dans les derniers mois de la période coloniale japonaise. L'empire japonais a commencé le développement de Hyochangwon dans un parc en 1924, et le gouverneur général japonais a officiellement confié le site comme un parc en 1940.
Actuellement, plusieurs des plus grands dirigeants de la Corée sont enterrés dans le parc Hyochang. Les restes appartiennent pour la plupart à des militants indépendantistes y compris Yoon Bong-gil, Lee Bong-chang, et Baek Jeong-gi, dont les tombes sont regroupées sous l'appellation "Samuisa-myo" (tombes des trois martyrs). Une statue de Lee Bong-chang a été construite dans le cimetière. Parmi les autres martyrs patriotes qui sont enterrés dans le parc sont Kim Gu et quelques-unes des figures de proue du gouvernement provisoire comme Lee Dong-nyeong, Cha I-seok, Cho Seong et-hwan. Un temple ancestral nommé Uiyeolsa a été construit le long de la porte principale et détient les portraits des militants indépendantistes décédés.

The great mix of both cultures can be seen in the sophisticated decorations and from the amazing food. The herbs they use are picked directly from the restaurant's personal garden. But to enjoy the atmosphere here, you will have to make a reservation far in advance.

Guesthouse Nuha is a ‘hanok’ or traditional Korean house consisting of four guestrooms located in Nuha-dong, Seochon (west of Gyeongbokgung Palace, Jongno, Seoul) where many Confucian scholars and artists lived during the Joseon Dynasty. Exuding a refined atmosphere, Guesthouse Nuha is very popular among not only domestic visitors but also foreign tourists who want to experience the flavor of Korea in a cozy hanok. All four guestrooms (An-bang, Sarang-bang, Geul-bang, and Byeol-dang) are covered with eco-friendly hanji (traditional Korean paper handmade from mulberry tree) wallpaper, and are equipped with a thick cotton-wool comforter and pillows imbued with the scent of Hinoki cypress tree to help guests relieve their fatigue. Breakfast is served free of charge. Guests can also experience traditional Korean culture here, such as playing a Korean musical instrument (janggu or double-headed drum), playing a game of yut in the yard, or wearing hanbok (traditional Korean clothes). Although a local bus service passes through the village, it is highly recommended to take a quiet leisurely around the area.
