Porte Daehanmun du Deoksugung (덕수궁 대한문)

Avant la construction du Junghwajeon, lieu
de fonction du roi, la porte Inhwamun était utilisée comme porte principale. En
1902 avec l’agrandissement du palais et les constructions de la salle du trône
Junghwajeon et sa porte Junghwamun, ainsi que la porte Jowonmun qui était une porte
extérieure à 3 entrées, le palais disposa des infrastructures lui permettant d’accueillir
toutes célébrations comme les couronnements par exemple. Par la suite, la porte
Geongeukmun fût bâti à la place de la porte Inhwamun, tandis qu’à l’Est de la porte Jowonmun la porte Daeanmun fût érigée et devint la
nouvelle porte principale du palais. Après des travaux de rénovation en 1906 la
porte changea de nom, son nouveau nom étant Daehanmun. La porte fût bâtie en
plein côté Est et au dessus de marches en pierre. A présent, la porte se trouve
plus en retrait du fait de l’expansion de la route tandis que les anciennes
marches se trouvent maintenant sous la route. Le toit de la porte est un toit en
tuile à 4 versants. La salle du trône du Deoksugung, Junghwajeon, n’étant qu’à
un seul étage la structure de la porte principale est aussi différente des
autres portes principales des 4 autres grands palais de Seoul.

La tour N Séoul servait autrefois d'antenne de transmission pour des chaînes de la TV.
