Les parcs de la Coupe du Monde qui ont été créés en souvenir de la 17ème Coupe du Monde de la FIFA 2002, ont été ouverts le 1er mai 2002. L’endroit choisi, Nanjido était à l’origine un lieu de décharge où 92 millions de tonnes d’ordures avaient été enfouies depuis 1978. Les parcs n’ont pu être ouverts qu’après plus de 6 ans de travaux (traitement des ordures, équipement du terrain, défrichage, construction des fondations...). Ils se situent tous à proximité du stade de la Coupe du Monde.

Le Parc de la Paix : Le parc de la Paix est celui qui se situe le plus près du stade de la Coupe du Monde de Séoul, on y trouve un étang, des jardins, des terrains de jeux, etc. Il est idéal pour pique-niquer ou observer la nature.

Le Parc du Cours Nanji : Les quartiers périphériques du Cours Nanji ont été défrichés pour devenir le parc du Cours Nanji. Alors même qu’il se trouvait à cet endroit des ordures, il coule maintenant un cours d’eau claire. Il comprend entre autre un théâtre en plein air et des équipements sportifs, etc.

Le Parc du Nanji Hangang : La rive de Hangang a été aménagée pour devenir le parc du Nanji Hangang. Ce parc comprend un terrain de camping, un terrain de football, un terrain de basket-ball, un lieu d’arrivage des bateaux de plaisance et un site éducatif de l’écologie.

Le Parc du Ciel : Ce parc est celui qui se situe le plus en hauteur. Une colline où des tas d’ordures avaient été entassées, a été transformée en colline de verdure avec 22 belvédères jouissant d’une belle vue sur Séoul, Namsan et Bukhansan. Cinq éoliennes y ont été établies pour alimenter le parc et le bureau de maintien du parc en électricité.

Le Parc du Soleil Couchant : Le parc du Soleil Couchant contient un terrain de golf de 9 trous. Il a été choisi d’y mettre beaucoup de pelouse car trop de travaux d’aménagement auraient nuît à l'environnement. Il offre une magnifique vue sur le fleuve Han et est parfait pour admirer les couchers de soleil.
