La piste cyclable de la rivière Yeongsangang s’étend sur 133 km le long du fleuve, depuis le Centre de la culture de l’eau du barrage de Damyang jusqu’au guichet d’embarquement des bateaux traditionnels Hwangpo dotdanbae près de l’estuaire de la rivière à Mokpo. L’itinéraire comprend les étapes suivantes : écluse de Seungchon – pont de Naju – Yeongsanpo – bateau Hwangpo – rocher Angam – Musée de la teinture naturelle – écluse de Juksan – village de Yeongsan Naru. En parcourant la piste et en faisant des pauses en chemin, on peut découvrir les cinq paysages emblématiques de Yeongsangang, sites réputés pour leur beauté naturelle.

Le 1er paysage, Yeongsan Seokjo, offre une vue splendide sur le fleuve teinté par les couleurs du crépuscule.
Le 2e paysage, Sigyeongjeong, évoque l’ombre poétique des roseaux ondulant au gré du vent léger soufflant sur la rivière.
Le 3e paysage, Seokgwan Guibeom, se contemple depuis le bateau Hwangpo et le pavillon Seokgwanjeong.
Le 4e paysage, Juksan Chunhyo, permet de profiter pleinement du parfum des fleurs printanières autour de l’écluse de Juksan, à Naju.
Le 5e paysage, Geumseong Sangun, désigne les ondulations dorées de la plaine de Naju vues depuis le port de Yeongsanpo.

La piste permet également d’observer les écluses de Seungchon et de Juksan, ainsi que de visiter divers sites touristiques tels que Juknokwon, l’allée de métasequoias et Gatbawi. On y trouve aussi une grande diversité de spécialités locales, faisant de cet itinéraire un parcours idéal pour une randonnée à vélo. Le centre d’information de la piste cyclable de Yeongsangang propose un service gratuit de location de vélos. Une zone d’entraînement à la sécurité cycliste est également aménagée devant le centre.

YangDongHo Traditional House (Hanok 152)/ 양참사댁(양동호 가옥 / 한옥152)

Yangchamsadaek (Yangdongho’s former name) or National Cultural Property No. 152 is a traditional hanok accommodation. Dalasil Village, Hwasun, Jeollanam-do, where the house is located, is a town with traditional houses and fields, where interestingly those who have the surname of Jeju Yang live together. Yangchamsadaek is a typical noble's house in the southern region with the ㄷ-shaped main building and the ㅡ-shaped detached building form the ㅁ shale. It is expected that the main building was built in the 18th century and the detached building at the end of 19th century. In 2013, the current owner has taken over the antique house and started running a hanok stay, and his daughter, Jo A-ae, a curator and culture planner, added modern touches to turn it into a culture complex, Hanok 152. The wide lawn is sometimes rented for music performance, traditional wedding, or outdoor wedding, and other times it serves as a venue of one-day classes for hanbok experience, Korean food experience, etc. As for rooms, there are four options: big room and small room in Anchae (main building), and Daecheong room and bed room in Sarangchae (detached building). The rooms are decorated with traditional cabinets and folding screens with embroidery, displaying the beauty of an antique house. The main floor, which is much bigger than that of other houses, has been renovated by the owner. The main floor in the main building, with a comfortable sofa and a rug, is modern and luxurious, whereas the main floor in the detached building is cozy with a floor table and Korean cushions. Toiletries are not available in the bathroom but provided upon request to the information desk. Space rental is also available. Various events such as traditional wedding, small wedding, first birthday celebration, 70th birthday celebration, small workshop, or one-day class can be held here. Moreover, traditional hanbok experience is always available at 15,000 won per person. Korean food experience is notified on Instagram and requires reservation. As the cost varies depending on the number of participants and the date, make sure to inquire over the phone. Also located in the village are Hanjae House (National Cultural Property No. 154) and World Heritage Hwasun Dolmen Site. Note that the Unjusa Temple, famous for the Cheonbulcheontap Pagoda, is a 15-minute drive away.

Le centre de Convention Kim Dae-jung est l'un des meilleurs bâtiments de la province du Jeollanam-do, il fut inauguré le 6 septembre 2005. Il fut nommé à l'origine Centre de Convention de Gwangju, mais fut renommé en 2000 suite lorsque le président Kim Dae-jung reçut le prix Nobel de la Paix. Le centre a abrité de nombreux événements d'envergure. En été de nombreuses personnes s'y rendent pour profiter des activités culturelles que l'on trouve à la fois à l'intérieur et à l'extérieur du bâtiment.

Stade de la coupe du monde de Gwangju (광주월드컵경기장)

Le stade la coupe du monde de Gwangju est un symbole majeur de Gwangju. Pensé pour refléter l’idée de « diffuser loin et largement », l’extérieur à la forme d’un rayon de roue. Lorsqu’il est allumé, le stade ressemble plus à une coupole brillante. Le plafond et les grands piliers en forme de Y, ressemblent à un « Go », un instrument utilisé dans le jeu traditionnel de Gwangju, le Gossaumnori. C’est avec ces touches de design que les architectes du stade ont cherché à capturer et à refléter les aspects traditionnels de la région de Gwangju.

Temple Unjusa (운주사)

Le Temple Unjusa est considéré comme un temple à part en raison de la présence de nombreuses statues et pagodes. Il est censé avoir possédé mille statues et mille pagodes. Aujourd’hui on ne peut y voir que 100 statues et 20 pagodes. Il n’existe aucun écrit précis sur la fondation de Unjusa cependant on sait qu’on le doit à Doseonguksa (827∼898) vers la fin de la période de Silla (-57~935).
A la différence des autres temples, Unjusa ne possède pas de Geumgang-mun ou de Cheonwang-mun (les portes d’entrée qui abritent les statues des quatre gardiens protecteurs). La première que l’on apreçoit en arrivant à Unjusa c’est une pagode en pierre de 9 étages (Trésor National no. 796), celle-ci est très simple, dénuée de tout motif complexe. En continuant dans la direction de la pagode vous arriverez à un embranchement, en prenant sur la gauche vous pourrez voir le rocher de Chilseong (7 étoiles) qui tire son nom de sa ressemblance avec la constellation de la grande Ourse. Sur le même chemin se trouvent deux statues de Bouddha allongées appellées Wabul. Ces deux statues sont les plus intriguantes que l’on puisse rencontrer dans le temple, de par leur design et leur élaboration. Un peu plus haut, on peut apercevoir une statue de plein pied de Bouddha, plus loin en dépassant un bosquet épais, se dressent une pagode de 7 étages et une de 5 étages. L’intérêt des pagodes de Unjusa réside dans le fait qu’elles possèdent toutes un design unique.
