La rue du maquereau Dong-Incheon est une allée à côté du Centre de Culture et d’Education d’Incheon pour les Etudiants en face de la station de métro Dongincheon. L’histoire de la rue du maquereau a débuté il y a environ 40 ans, lorsque le premier restaurant specialisé dans le maquereau grillé, « la maison de Inha », ouvrit ses portes dans cette ruelle. En 2002, elle fut baptisée « la rue du maquereau » et un panneau y fut placé à l’entrée en signe de reconnaissance. Actuellement, on y trouve une douzaine de restaurants spécialisés dans le maquereau grillé et chacun d’entre eux a personnalisé son panneau d’accueil de manière différente. Les maquereaux sont importés directement de Nouvelle-Zélande, et chaque restaurant offre à ses clients un goût de poisson unique résultant de différentes méthode de grillage du poisson ainsi que de l’originalité des sauces accompagnant les mets.
