Forteresse Chojijin à Ganghwa (강화 초지진)

La forteresse Chojijin fut construite en 1656 en tant que site officiel de défense nationale contre les attaques des ennemis provenant du littoral. En fait, Chojijin est un terme incluant Chojijin, Jangjapyeongdon et Seomamdon, construits en 1679. Chojijin était le théatre de bien des batailles, incluant Byeonginyangyo (l’invasion française de 1866), Sinmiyangyo (l’invasion américaine de 1871) et la collision avec les navires de guerre japonais Unyomaru en 1875. Le 23 avril 1871, la flotte asiatique de la marine américaine, sous les commandes du contre-amiral John Rodgers, accosta sur l’île Ganghwado. Une force de 450 soldats attaqua la forteresse Chojijin, le camp Deokjin et le camp Gwangseongjin les uns après les autres. Le 21 Août 1875, l’artillerie de Chojijin engagea un violent échange de coups de feu avec les navires japonais Wunyoho. La forteresse Chojijin fut restaurée en 1973 et l’on peut toujours y apercevoir les traces de balles sur les murs, mais aussi sur les vieux pins bordant le site. Les canons utilisés par les forces militaires de la dynastie Joseon sont en présentation à Chojijin.
Île Jamjindo (잠진도)

Située à Jung-gu (Incheon), Jamjindo est une petite île connectée à l'île Yeongjongdo. Une route nouvellement inaugurée rend l'accès à l'île plus plus facile.
Son coucher de soleil, vu depuis les zones humides colorées par de fantastiques teintes rougeoyantes, attirent des visiteurs en nombre, venus prendre des photos et ramasser des coquillages lors de la marée basse.
Des foules de visiteurs se déplacent aussi pour emprunter le ferry (trajet réalisé en 5 minutes chrono) qui se rend sur l'île Muuido (connue pour être reliée à l'île Silmido).
En raison des marées, il convient de vérifier les horaires du ferry en avance.
La plage Eurwangni, Hanagae et Deokgyo sont facilement accessibles.
