Le musée Arario Tapdong Cinéma est l'un trois musées faisant parti du grand musée Arario. Les deux autres sont le musée Dongmun Motel 1 et Dongmun Motel 2. Le directeur Kim Chang-il, un collectionneur d'art, a fait construire ce musée d'art contemporain en utilisant un bâtiment abandonné dans le quartier Tap-dong sur l'île de Jeju.

Inauguré sous le thème de « préservation et création », l'ancien bâtiment a été transformé en un espace où coexistent art et histoire. La structure se distingue par son ambiance unique créée grâce aux caractéristiques du théâtre doté d'un plafond haut et une structure en béton. Le musée expose des œuvres d'artistes internationaux tels que Subodh Gupta et Andy Warhol ainsi que des œuvres d'artistes coréens.
