Une des plus anciennes architectures sur l’île de Jéju, le pavillon Gwandeokjeong a été construit par le pasteur Sin Suk-Cheong dans la trentième année du règne du Roi Sejong (1448) comme un terrain d’entrainement. Pour sa contribution historique pour le renforcement de l’esprit et les âmes des soldats ("Gwandeok" signifie littéralement un exercice de l’esprit et la vertu), Gwangdeokjeong a été désigné Trésor national n°322 en 1963. Aujourd’hui le pavillon sert de modèle d’excellence en matière d’entrainement de soldats.

Situé dans la ville de Jéju Samdo 2-dong, Mokgwana est le premier bureau du gouvernement central pendant la période Joseon. A l’époque, le magistrat de Jéju présidait les affaires politiques et administratives de 1392 à 1910. Le site est aujourd’hui désigné comme site historique n ° 380. Il se compose de plusieurs bâtiments, comme les Dongheon qui étaient les principaux bâtiments administratifs. On trouve aussi le bâtiment le plus ancien de Jéju, Gwandeokjeong, qui était autrefois un terrain d'entraînement pour le personnel militaire. Il fut construit en 1448 et il est aujourd’hui le trésor national no.322.
Mokgwana a été rasée par les flammes en 1434 puis reconstruit peu après. La période coloniale japonaise ne l’a pas épargné de détruire une seconde fois à l’exception de Gwandeokjeong, qui est demeuré intact. Le site a été entièrement restauré en décembre 2002 après quatre projets de fouilles de 1991 à 1998 qui ont permis de retrouver les fondations, et déterminer ainsi l’emplacement exact des bâtiments.
