Les murailles Haemieupseong de Seosan est un site historique reconnu car les murailles sont les mieux conservées du pays. Ces murailles bâties il y a 600 ans pendant la période Joseon ont vu la naissance et développement d’une grande histoire culturelle. Au coeur de la région Hoseo, les deux commandants en chef de la province Chungcheong-do ainsi que le plus célèbre des amiraux coréens, Yi SunShin y avaient officié. C’est aussi un lieu où 1 000 martyrs catholiques ont été exécutés faisant de ce lieu la plus importante exécution de catholique de l’histoire de Corée. C’est aussi un lieu témoin des turbulences de l’histoire moderne notamment lors de la révolution Donghak ou persécution des catholiques.
Ville à l’histoire profonde malgré sa modeste taille, plusieurs événements ont lieu sous le thème de la fête populaire. Vous pourrez aussi participer à certaines de ces manifestations dont certaines sont des héritages traditionnels conservés depuis plusieurs centaines d’années.

La forteresse Haemieupseong (ou forteresse Haemi) a été construite pendant la période Joseon. C’est l’un des plus beaux patrimoines culturels de la Corée en plus d’etre parfaitement conservee. Cette forteresse était le lieu ou un commandant suprême de l'armée dans Chungcheong-do aimait venir se reposer ; l’amiral Yi Sun-shin venait aussi y travailler. En outre, comme la Corée du plus grand terrain sacré, Plus tristement, près de 1000 catholiques ont été martyrisés sur ce site au temps de la révolution paysanne Donghak.
Cette forteresse accueille chaque année des évenements comme le Festival Barracks et le championnat national Ssireum.

The House of Kim Gi-hyeon (Gyeam Historic House, National Folklore Cultural Heritage 199) is a hanok with over 100 years of history that was established by renovating a nobleman’s house dating from the nineteenth century and equipping it with modern facilities. The Gyeongju Kim clan has lived in the Seosan area, a fertile stretch of land in the middle of the west coast region, for over 600 years. The house has been open to the public since 2010, and attracts many Korean and foreign guests. The owner renovated the old house by installing a modern bathroom, sink, kitchen and air-conditioning and filling it with antique furniture, and transformed it into a clean and pleasant tourist accommodation with high-class bedding in order to avoid the stereotype about hanok being uncomfortable. In particular, the kitchen has been transformed into a modern facility where guests can enjoy a cup of tea or a meal. The house is also packed with charming features including a small old well equipped with a pump, a wood-burning stove with an iron pot, and a platform for crocks of sauces and condiments. The House of Kim Gi-hyeon is home to the small Wadang (Roof Tile) Museum, which contains a collection of roof tiles ranging from the Goryeo Dynasty to the Joseon Dynasty. The friendly owners also run a ‘Wadang Rubbing Experience’ program that is popular among foreign tourists and students alike, and strive to provide all their guests with comfort and relaxation and share pleasant moments with them. The house’s courtyard reflects the beauty of each season, including flower blossoms in spring, colorful leaves in autumn, and a snowy landscape in winter.

Temple Sudeoksa (수덕사)

Le temple Sudeoksa, qui tient un rôle important dans l'histoire du bouddhisme en Corée, est situé dans les montagnes Deoksungsan. Le bâtiment principal du temple Sudeoksa, le Daeunjeon, a été conservé dans son état original. Il a été construit en 1308 et a été désigné un trésor national. Entre 1528 et 1803, le temple a été réparé quatre fois tout en gardant sa noblesse naturelle.
