La isla Biyangdo se puede ver directamente desde la playa Hyeopjae, que está situada en la zona norte del puerto Hallim. La palabra Biyang significa "sobrevolar" y, según una leyenda, la isla Biyangdo en realidad voló desde China hace más de 1.000 años. La pequeña isla, junto el parque Hallim, la playa Hyeopjae y el puerto de Hallim, crean un auténtico y pintoresco paisaje. En el centro de la isla hay dos cráteres que forman una cuenca, hogar de una colonia de frutescens Villbrunea, la única natural en Corea. La isla también es la casa de más de 80 tipos de peces y diferentes plantas marinas.  

Es un destino famoso por la pesca en verano y por ser un lugar perfecto para hacer excursiones ligeras. Aunque el pico Biyangbong no es alto, solo 114 metros sobre el mar, ofrece a los visitantes la oportunidad de ver un impresionante paisaje: desde el monte Hallasan hasta otras de origen volcánico (llamadas oreum en el dialecto de Jeju), líneas costeras deslumbrantes y la reluciente playa Hyeopjae. También hay un pequeño número de casas repartidas por el muelle, a los pies del pico Biyangbong, además de un antiguo, ahora no tripulado, faro que le da sabor a la isla.

La playa Hyeopjae se encuentra en el lado oeste de Hallim-eup, y forma parte integrante del Parque Hallim. Su blanca arena posee un montón de polvo de conchas marinas desintegradas mezcladas, y apenas más allá de la playa se encuentra la isla Biyangdo. Tiene una larga costa de 9 km de longitud y bosques perennes y agua marina de color cobalto, que se halla salpicado aquí y allí, formando un paisaje extraordinariamente bello. Su playa de arena blanca tiene una extensión de 20 metros aproximados y sus aguas de apenas 1,2 m de profundidad con una suave inclinación la hace un excelente lugar para las vacaciones en familia. Hay numerosas instalaciones de conveniencia, y en el área de bosque perennes está permitido acampar.

El Parque Hallim tiene cerca un arboreto subtropical, las cuevas Hyeopjaegul y Ssangyonggul que provee interesantes puntos de atracción turística. La costa sur de la playa Hyeopjae se conecta con otra playa llamada Geumneung, y ambas son denominadas en conjunto playa Hyeopjae. Asimismo, desde cualquier playa de la Isla Jeju alcanzará a ver siempre el monte Hallasan.
