Donganjae is a hanok-style pension built of pinewood and red clay and located in Donghae-si, Gangwon-do. All rooms are ondol-heated and equipped with a shower booth and bidet, and offer scenic views from the numaru floor. The hanok uses geothermal heating (from 150 metres underground) which makes the rooms warm and cozy. Residents can bathe their feet in the fountain in the middle of the yard, and enjoy a morning walk on the pine tree trail behind the house. Cheoneunsa Temple is located on Dutasan Mountain in Miro-myeon, Samcheok-si, Gangwon-do. At the tail end of the Goryeo dynasty, Lee Seung-hyu, a renowned scholar, wrote ‘Jewangungi’, an epic for the Korean people at Cheoneunsa temple. After the temple burnt down during the Korean War, the temple was renovated. The temple houses Beophwagyeong (Lotus Sutra Statue) among other cultural significant artifacts. Also, the surrounding area was the capital during Goryeo dynasty, where a number of relics such as pieces of celadon and blue roof tiles were unearthed.

Jungyeongmyo Royal Tomb is the grave of the 5th great-grandfather of King Taejo of the Joseon dynasty. The grave as well as memorial monuments were built together with Yeonggyeongmyo, a grave for the 5th great-grandmother of King Taejo. Surrounded by a rich forest, it has a beautiful view. Every April 20th, an ancestral ritual is held by the Lee family (from Jeonju).

Nongoldam-gil Street, formed in 1941, was transformed in 2010 with the "Nongoldam-gil Street" project by the Donghae Culture Center. With the help from the village seniors and local artists, the street became a canvas storytelling the history of Mukhohang Port and the lives of the villagers. Buheung Hoetjip is a restaurant near Mukho Port specializes in serving fresh seafood caught the same day, exclusively using wild-caught fish for its menu. The restaurant closes for the day once the ingredients are sold out. Its signature dish is mul hoe (cold raw fish soup).
