Imjingang Station was the first station to connect the North-South Railway and started operating on September 30, 2001 near Imjingak Resort. A sightseeing train, DMZ-Train, is operated from the station as well.

Seoul Trail is a walking trail that encompasses the entire city of Seoul, with a total length of 157km and 8 courses. It weaves together the history, culture, and natural ecology of Seoul through various stories. The 1st course is a gentle path from Suraksan Mountain to Buramsan Mountain, covering 18.6km and taking approximately 8 hours and 10 minutes. This trekking course around Buramsan Mountain passes through Iris Garden, Deongneung-gogae, Information Center, Taereung Royal Tomb, Suamsa Temple, and Hakdoam Temple.

Dongducheon Recreational Forest (동두천 자연휴양림)

Dongducheon Recreational Forest is a national forest park that opened in 2020. It offers various accommodation options such as Forest House, Forest Condo, and a campground. Reservations can be made through their website. There are diverse amenities including a recreation room called Momople for playing board games, blocks, and reading, a forest trail, a playground, and more. Forest experience programs vary by period and can be signed up for at the visitor center, based on availability and on a first-come, first-served basis.

Uidonggyegok Valley (우이동계곡)

Uidonggyegok Valley is located between Bukhansan Mountain and Dobongsan Mountain, and is a popular retreat for locals. Near the entrance to the valley are accommodations, a playground, wedding hall, and other amenities. Clean water runs through the valley, and is lined with restaurants. The hiking path starting to the left of the valley entrance passes Doseonsa Temple on the way to Insubong Peak. The hiking path through the valley is quite difficult, but leads to Uiam Hermitage, and further to Dobongsan Mountain along the ridge. Additional temples in the area include Seongbulsa, Yongdeoksa, Seonunsa, and Gwangmyeongsa Temples.

Panmunjeom (Joint Security Area) (판문점)

Panmunjeom is the site of the Armistice Agreement that signaled the ceasefire of the Korean War (1950-1953) and is located in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), just 50 kilometers north of Seoul. It remains a venue for talks between South Korea and North Korea, allowing visitors to observe North Korean troops up close. Since it is a civilian-controlled area, individual tours are not permitted; they must be arranged in advance through a tour operator designated by the United Nations Command. Visitors must bring valid identification, such as a passport or alien registration card.

The Peace Land (평화랜드)

The Peace Land is an amusement park located near the Imjingang River. It offers around twenty different types of rides, including a Viking ship, bumper cars, and merry-go-round. For added convenience, there is an unmanned convenience store on-site that accepts card payments exclusively, offering a variety of beverages, ice cream, and snacks. The park also has an infirmary where wound care is available. Nearby, visitors can enjoy the Peace Gondola, which provides a scenic way to cross the Imjingang River.

Located approximately 56 kilometers from Seoul City Hall and 7 kilometers from DMZ, the site of Imjingak Pavilion is an important part of Korean history. Imjingak Resort, the main tourist complex, has various war-related artifacts as well as the spacious Pyeonghwa Nuri Park. The resort preserves the Freedom Bridge and Imjingang rail bridge from the Korean War to remind people of the past, along with a Memorial Hall, memorial monuments, and recreational areas.

Located in the Imjingak Tourist Complex, the Paju Imjingak Peace Gondola is Korea’s first gondola to cross over the Civilian Control Zone. Connecting Imjingak Resort and Camp Greaves, the gondola is part of the peace and security tourism initiative, offering visitors a unique perspective on DMZ’s history and natural landscapes. As visitors glide across the river, they can see the barbed wire fences, surveillance posts, and other remnants of division. In addition to the general cabin, visitors can enjoy the transparent crystal cabin, which provides a unique and memorable experience.
