“Seogwipo Chilshimni” était à l'origine le nom du chemin de 27km de long entre le village Seongeup et le port de Seogwiposur l'île de Jeju, mais au fil des années le mot a pris le sens de “patrie” pour les habitants de Jeju. La région de Seogwipo est l'une des destinations la plus populaire de l'île grâce à ces superbes paysages océaniques.
Chilsimni (ou Chilshimni) désigne le type de maison que l’on trouve à Séoul. Seogwipo Chilsimni est l’une des destinations touristiques les plus populaires car elle offre le plus bel endroit pour regarder le paysage merveilleux de Seogwipo.

Le festival s’y tient chaque année en septembre pour célébrer l’histoire et la nature de l’Ile de Jeju. Le festival se tiendra du 23 au 26 octobre sur la place Cheonjiyeon dans la ville de Seogwipo-si. Pour profiter au mieux de la beauté naturelle de l’Ile, le festival se tiendra en plein air. Vous pourrez vous essayer à la pêche aux palourdes et aux sports nautiques tels que la plongée en scaphandre, yachting, la planche à voile, le bateau-banane, le scooter des mers, et le canoë. Ne manquez pas la compétition de rafting, celle de natation ; et le concours de pêche en mer. Il y aura également de nombreuses représentations folkloriques locales, un concert et un défilé en mer.
Spectacles folkloriques, légendes et environnement naturel figurent au programme du festival. Vous pourrez aussi faire des sports aquatiques, qui sont très populaires auprès des visiteurs.

The idea behind Jeju Eco Suites was created by a husband-and-wife team of tour guide and painter. Its wooden buildings are surrounded by grass fields, giving the Suites an exotic feel of being in a forest vacation home. Like its name, Eco Suites uses solar power extensively to provide outdoor lighting and heating, while up-cycled trash bins and flower pots made out of old paint tins demonstrate the potent mixture of artistic creativity and environmental awareness that characterizes the rest of the Suites. There are 10 rooms in total, including the Deluxe Suite, Jacuzzi Suite, and Spaville Building. The interior is decorated with the same elegant and comfortable touch. All rooms are furnished with living rooms and comfortable sofas, wide terraces, and fully-equipped kitchens, which help to make the stay just like home. The two Spaville Buildings, which come in 45-pyeong (150m2) and 75-pyeong (250m2) varieties, are highly popular among visitors who prefer privacy.

All rooms accommodate travelers with dogs, while the lobby offers a suite of toys for children. Other amenities like free barbecue grill for rental, free laundry facilities, and free breakfast (for guests staying longer than 2 nights) show that the team is truly attentive to the comfort of the guests. From November to January, it also allows guests to experience the mandarin orange harvests in the nearby field. Suhui Sikdang, in addition to delicious local cuisine, offers a wide-open view of the lower reaches of Cheonjiyeon Waterfall and the many splendors of the neighboring Seogwipo Chilsip-ri area. Must-try dishes include seafood stew made using obunjagi (blue ear shell) fresh from the sea and salted and grilled hairtail fish. The stew, though similar in looks to the bean paste stew found on the mainland, has a unique and savory taste that you won’t find anywhere else.

Cascade de Cheonjeyeon (천제연폭포)

La cascade Cheonjeyeon, appelée 'L’Etang de Dieu', consiste en 3 parties. A l’approche de l’automne, il y a des plantes rares comme les ‘Roseaux Sollimnan’. A l’est, se trouve la grotte et la cascade qui tombe du plafond. L’eau de la première cascade devient la deuxième et la troisième chute d’eau s’écoule dans la mer. Dans la vallée Cheonjeyeon, il y a le “Pont Seonimgyo” (Pont arqué qui a 7 nymphes taillées sur le côté) et la “Tour Cheonjeru” octagonale. Le Seonimgyo est aussi appelé “Chilseonyeogyo” (Pont des sept nymphes) et il relie Cheonjeyeon par le Complex Touristique de Jungmum. A la surface de la Tour Cheonjeru, il y a une peinture qui raconte la légende des nymphes de Cheonjeyeon et du dieu de la montagne. Tous les deux ans, au mois de mai, on y organise le Festival Chilseonyeo.
