Playa Haeundae (해운대해수욕장)

La Playa Haeundae es probablemente el balneario más famoso del país. Le debe su nombre de "Haeundae" al sabio maestro Choi Chi-Won (857-?) de la dinastía Silla (57 a.C.-935 d.C), que un día estaba de paso por la isla Dongbaekseom y quedó fascinado por estas playas y dejó grabadas las sílabas "Hae Un Dae" sobre un paredón de piedra de la isla. La Playa Haeundae tiene 1,5 km de longitud y 30 a 50 m de ancho, alcanzando una superficie de 58.400 ㎡. Su blanca arena es áspera y se adhiere fácilmente a la piel. La arena de esta playa está compuesta por granos provenientes del arroyo Chuncheoncheon y los restos de conchas desintegradas naturalmente por la acción del viento a lo largo de mucho tiempo. La playa Haeundae es también famosa por los numerosos y variados eventos culturales que organiza a lo largo de todo el año.
