Located in Gwangan 2-dong, Suyeong-gu, Busan, Halmae (meaning "grandmother" in Busan dialect) Jaecheopguk has a long history of selling jaecheopguk (clear shellfish soup) made with jaecheop, or shellfish, caught from the nearby Gupo area to people who sought refuge in Busan during the Korean War.

Each bowl of cool tasting broth has abundant amounts of jaecheop. Jaecheop has long been widely used as an ingredient to help in relieving hangover symptoms.

El festival está compuesto por una gran cantidad de actividades divertidas y espectáculos, como el de capturar peces con la mano, un campeonato gastronómico, etc. De entre todas las atracciones que presenta el festival, uno de los motivos principales por el que es visitado por turistas de todo el país es que, durante el período del evento, se pueden degustar pescados crudos rebanados y frescos, a precios asequibles.

La playa Gwangalli tiene 1,4 km de longitud y 64 m de ancho, y es famosa por la calidad de su arena.
