El Arboreto Solhyang fue construido en 2008 e inaugurado el 30 de octubre de 2013 en Gujeong-myeon, de la ciudad de Gangneung. El arboreto se estableció alrededor del pintoresco valle de Yongsogol y el monte Chilseongsan, que aún conserva el prestigioso bosque de pinos Geumgang. El arboreto se extiende sobre una superficie de 78,5 ha y está organizado en 25 temas que cuentan con un total de 220.000 ejemplares de 1.127 especies diferentes. Los visitantes pueden disfrutar de una amplia variedad de paisajes que cambian segun la estación, así como áreas temáticas como un sendero de bosque ecológico denso con una colonia de árboles y plantas de jengibre y bambúes, una plaza de bosque de pinos, jardines de flores silvestres y más. La principal atracción de este arboreto es el sendero llamado "Camino de sanación del aliento de los mil años".
