Universidad Femenina de Ewha (이화여자대학교)

La Universidad Femenina de Ehwa fue fundada en el año 1886 por Mary Scranton, la esposa de un misionero estadounidense de la iglesia cristiana metodista y fue la primera universidad femenina en Corea. El nombre de la universidad proviene de la "escuela Ehwa", cuyo nombre fue puesto en 1887 por la emperatriz Myeongseong (1851-1895). En 1910 se establecieron cursos académicos de 4 años de duración. En 1943, bajo presión del régimen de ocupación japonés, se degradó la institución despojándola de su nombre Ehwa y degradándola a escuela. Tras la liberación de Corea, en octubre de 1945 recuperó su nombre y fue reinstaurada como universidad, ofreciendo varias carreras. Las calles de los alrededores de esta universidad son famosas por sus tiendas de moda. Desde la estación del metro de la línea 2 (que lleva su nombre) hasta la entrada principal de la universidad, usted podrá encontrar tiendas de toda clase: tienda de ropas, zapaterías, tiendas de accesorios, restaurantes, cafeterías, salones de belleza, etc.

Templo Bongwonsa en Seúl (봉원사(서울))

El templo Bongwonsa es un templo budista milenario ubicado en las faldas del monte Ansan. Este fue construido en el lugar donde actualmente se encuentra la Universidad Yonsei, por orden de la reina Jinseong de Silla, siendo llamado Banyasa. Lamentable, la construcción original desapareció durante la Guerra de Imjin (1592–1598) debido a un incendio, y el templo de la actualidad es una nueva obra realizada en el año 1748, año desde el que es llamado Bongwonsa. Cada 6 de junio, en el templo Bongwonsa se organiza una ceremonia para desear la unificación de las dos Coreas. El Festival Cultural de las Flores de Loto es otra de sus celebraciones anuales.

Cada 1º de enero se celebra el Festival del Amanecer del Monte Inwangsan en un lugar más comúnmente conocido como “La colina del poeta Yun Dong-ju". El Parque Cheongun es un gran lugar para ver la salida o la puesta del sol en Seúl. A pesar de su impresionante vista en medio de las grandes áreas montañosas de los montes Inwangsan y Bugaksan, el Parque Cheongun es menos conocido en comparación con otros puntos para ver el atardecer. El sendero de descenso cerca de la muralla de la fortaleza en el Parque Cheongun es conocido por haber sido frecuentado por uno de los poetas más importantes de Corea, Yun Dong-ju. Si sigue el camino llegará al Centro Literario Yun Dong-ju, un pequeño museo dedicado a la vida del poeta y sus obras literarias durante el período de resistencia contra la ocupación japonesa (1910-1945). Chikibaitu opened its doors in December 2010, and allows guests to chow down on some fried chicken alongside their meals. They even reproduced the famous chicken comic character as a mascot of sorts. Also, they provide special finger gloves called "finger-naps" that make the experience more fun. You will never get bored with its unique fried chicken taste and set menu items. Also, while waiting for your food to be served, you can try your hand at the board game Othello, one of which is placed at every table.

The restaurant serves standard meals, fried chicken, and drinks from noon to midnight. Another interesting thing about this restaurant is it sells homemade sikhye (sweet rice drink), which is said to aid digestion. All menu items are available for take-out. If it's raining when you leave, staff at Chikibaitu will lend you a free umbrella and offer a discount for returning it on your next visit.
