Primera Iglesia Metodista de Jeong-dong (정동교회)

La Iglesia de Jeong-dong de Seúl, fundada en 1898, fue la primera iglesia protestante en Corea. La iglesia tenía 380㎡ cuando se construyó, pero como se añadieron edificios en cada ala en 1926, hoy en día esta iglesia ocupa una extensión de 579 ㎡. La Iglesia de Jeong-dong ha sido designada como Sitio Histórico, mostrando una arquitectura gótica al estilo norteamericano. Dentro del terreno de la iglesia, se hallan un busto del fundador, el pastor Appenzeller, y un monumento en conmemoración del 50º aniversario de la fundación. En 1889, la iglesia apareció en una revista mensual llamada Church por celebrar la primera reunión de estudios de la Biblia en Corea, y también era una de las iglesias que lideraban las actividades misioneras. La Iglesia de Jeong-dong está situada en el centro de la hermosa calle Jeong-dong de Seúl, una zona que presenta un paisaje espléndido en otoño cuando las hojas se caen de los árboles. En sus inmediaciones se encuentran el Teatro Jeongdong, el palacio Deoksugung y el Museo de Arte de Seúl, por lo que esta área se convierte en un lugar perfecto para el turismo.

Museo Nacional de Arte Moderno y Contemporáneo en Deoksugung [MMCA] (국립현대미술관 덕수궁관)

Este museo se dedica a la investigación y el estudio del arte moderno, y también en su exposición y conservación. Aquí podrá ver obras clásicas del arte moderno. Debido a que utiliza el anexo Seokjojeon, dentro del palacio Deoksugung, como su lugar de exposición, el centro mantiene por ello un ambiente tradicional único. En el primer piso están la oficina de administración y la sala audiovisual, y el segundo piso tiene exposiciones de arte moderno en las salas 1 y 2. El tercer piso tiene las salas 3 y 4, en donde las obras seleccionadas como el mejor arte moderno están expuestas durante todo el año. Puede ver obras modernas, tales como pinturas con tinta china, a color, óleos y esculturas. Además de las exposiciones, el centro tiene varias actuaciones, tales como música y mímica. También las conferencias o seminarios, sobre las obras de los artistas, se celebran a menudo y son populares entre los turistas. El Parque de los Ciudadanos del exterior del museo es frecuentado por mucha gente que va allí a relajarse.

Bukchonmaru Hanok Guesthouse is located between “Bukchon Views 2 and 3” on a hill in Bukchon Village in Seoul. This two-storied hanbok building with a terrace, which is rarely found among other hanok structures in the area, offers a splendid view of Seoul. In particular, the summit of a hill next to the main gate of Choong Ang High School where the guesthouse is situated is known as the filming location for the famous Korean TV series Winter Sonata (2002). When you open the main gate and go up to the first floor, a small yard is seen with a group of jars on one side. After entering the sliding door through the yard, there is daecheong maru (main floored room) that features the doors opening in all directions and a high ceiling with rafters, making the space open and cozy. The hanok building consists of two floors – the ground floor is equipped with special furniture, a jar table and a log chair made by the owner, and on the first floor are guestrooms comprised of one large room and two small rooms. The neat and clean rooms are designed in a simple way and have lovely bedding with the pattern of five cardinal colors. Its staff members can speak English and Chinese to communicate with guests from other countries. Every morning, guests engage in animated conversation while enjoying a Korean home-style breakfast prepared by the owner in a friendly atmosphere. After having breakfast, if guests want, they can try on traditional Korean clothes (hanbok) and take photographs inside and around the guesthouse to create interesting memories. The guesthouse also provides a hanbok rental service (KRW 30,000 for a day) and tourists wearing traditional Korean clothes can enter both Changdeokgung Palace and Gyeongbokgung Palace, which can be reached on foot within 10 to 15 minutes, free of charge. Moreover, guests can enjoy an open view of the area including Gahoe-dong, Gye-dong and even the lights of the Namsan Seoul Tower at night from the roof top.

Museo del Té Areumdaun (Beautiful Tea Museum) (아름다운 차박물관)

Yonggeumok's specialized stew includes tofu, fried tofu, spring onion, onion, oyster mushroom, tree ear mushroom, and other condiments added to broth boiled with lamb and its intestines overnight. Pre-cooked loaches are added in the end, creating a spicy yet savory flavor with chewy texture (loaches can be ground upon request). Campanario Bosingak (보신각 터)

El campanario Bosingak es el lugar en donde se encontraba la campana que daba la señal de la hora, tanto para las áreas del interior y exterior de la muralla de la ciudad capital. Fue construido en el 13º año (1468) del reinado de Sejo de la época Joseon, y en aquel tiempo, se fundó también el templo Wongaksa, pero fue trasladado al sitio actual, durante el reinado de Gwanghaegun (1619). En la antigüedad, la campana se tocaba 33 veces a las 4:00 de la mañana, y 28 veces a las 22:00 de la noche, y era utilizada para dar la señal de la hora, y como símbolo de la apertura y cierre del portón de la muralla. Es un patrimonio cultural de gran valor para los estudios académicos. Siendo el Tesoro Nº 2, la pieza original se encuentra en el Museo Nacional de Corea.
