Lago Baeknokdam del Monte Hallasan (한라산 백록담)

El significado de la palabra baeknok es "ciervo blanco"; por ello, se cuenta que, en la antigüedad, los dioses bajaban a la tierra y descansaban en este lugar montándose a los ciervos.

Este lago volcánico tiene una circunferencia aproximada de 3 km y un diámetro de 500 m. El monte Hallasan, que es donde se encuentra ubicado el lago Baeknokdam, tiene una altura de 1.950 m, y es la más alta de Corea del Sur. El monte es tan grande que dar una vuelta por su contorno sería igual al recorrido entero por la carretera costera de la isla de Jeju. Desde la cima de la montaña, sentirá como si estuviera flotando entre las nubes, y de esta manera podrá disfrutar del paisaje maravilloso que ofrece la naturaleza circundante. El monte Hallasan fue designado como Patrimonio Natural y está protegido. Para hacer montañismo en Hallasan, se recomienda optar por la ruta del templo Gwaneumsa y Seongakpan, porque la ruta principal de Yeongsil está repleta de turistas. Como es una región en la que comienza a oscurecer antes de las 18:00, para llegar hasta la cima de la montaña, tendrá que comenzar a escalar alrededor de las 09:00.
