Namchuncheon Station is located on the Seoul Subway Gyeongchun Line in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do. The station is also called Gangwondae, as Kangwon National University - Chuncheon Campus is nearby. Chuncheon Station, Gyeongchun Line's original final stop, was temporarily closed in October of 2005 for double-track electrification construction. During this time, Namchuncheon Station was used as the final stop.

Chuncheon Art Gallery started from a simple exhibition at the Children’s Center in Samcheon-dong in 1995. Thanks to this exhibition and the continued efforts of the Chuncheon Fine Arts Association to make Chuncheon a city of culture and arts, the gallery was able to move and open as a permanent exhibition space. The Chuncheon International Mime Festival is recognized as one of the world’s top three mime festivals, alongside France’s Mimos Mime Festival and the London International Mime Festival in the UK. The festival kicks off with “City of Water: Ah! Surajang,” transforming the city center into a massive water park. The highlight of the festival is the fire performance “City of Fire: Dokkaebi Nanjang,” which lights up the dark night. Chuncheon Folk Flea Market, which is 5 min walk from Namchuncheon Station, is located below the Gyeongchun Line railway bridge connecting Namchuncheon Station with Chuncheon Station. The market was originally built over the covered Yaksacheon Stream, but with the ecosystem restoration project of the Yaksacheon Stream, the market was relocated to the current position at the end of 2010. It covers a distance of about 700 m and is packed with some 140 stores. It also holds its fifth-day market (opened every five days on dates of the month whose last digit is the 2nd or 7th). On the opening days of the fifth-day market, it is filled with various kinds of street stalls selling farming products, fresh fish and seafood, snacks, and miscellaneous goods. Visitors can also try diverse dishes, including Gangwon-do’s local dishes such as buckwheat pancake, buckwheat crepes, and red chili paste pancake, and other dishes such as spicy stir-fried chicken, raw meat dish, and noodle soup. The nighttime market opens Friday to Sunday from spring to autumn.

Gongjicheon Sculpture Park (공지천 조각공원)

Originally named Gongji Park, the park is located near Gongjicheon Stream and has been decorated with sculptures since 1997. Twenty-nine pieces are displayed and a water clock was installed in 2001. Gongjicheon Resort is located nearby the park with an outdoor stage and fountain. Water sports such as boat-riding can be enjoyed on the lake. The lake and the fountain are great locations to spend time with family and friends. Every year diverse cultural art events such as the Spring Art Performance as well as the Soyangjae Chuncheon Poetry Recital take place in the park and Gongjicheon area. A Children’s Center and War Memorial are also located nearby.

Chuncheon Station (춘천역)

Chuncheon Station was established on July 25, 1939 as a regular station. The stations sees an average of 5,200 passengers on a daily basis. Many people travel through Chuncheon Station from Seoul in order to participate in the many festivals happening in the area, including an ice festival, comic book festival, International mime festival, Makguksu festival and more.

Gongjicheon Recreation Area (공지천유원지)

The area of Gongjicheon Stream connected to the Bukhangang River is a shelter in the middle of Chuncheon City. This recreation area comprises various facilities along both sides of the Gongjicheon Stream, including Gongjicheon Sculpture Park, Uiam Park, Memorial Hall for Ethiopian Veterans in the Korean War, inline skating rink, outdoor stage, and fountain. Visitors can cross the water easily through the Gongjicheon Bridge and the lower pedestrian bridge. The waterside trail and the bike path are popular among citizens with the seasonal scenic view. In particular, cherry blossom attracts many visitors in spring. There is a bicycle rental stand nearby the stream. It is recommended to enjoy biking around the Gongjicheon Stream or along the Uiamho Bike Path. Another interesting ride is a pedal boat with which visitors can create a romantic memory with a splendid scenery of the Gongjicheon Stream.
